The music industry 10 or 15 years ago is a lot different from the music industry today. The music industry is growing in the world today, and in order for music artists to continue making music they have to earn money. Advertising is a good start for small and big artists music to grow and get more popular in the music industry.
Advertising can get artists far into a good career, and can lead them far in the music industry. The reason artists are having a hard time in today's society is because of apps like Spotify and cheap downloadable music. "The main problem facing many musicians is that payments-per-stream of a song are much lower than what an artist would receive from a download."(Carter pg 5) Because of the lower costs for artists it is hard for them to make much money now in society. The money that artists make is just not enough for all the expenses that come with touring and other expensive costs. This is why artists need to start putting there music in advertisements so they can have a good career in the music business. "A corporation paying for these costs can make the difference between artists growing their careers, or completely giving up on the music business altogether."(Coates pg 7) Advertising and partnerships with corporations is the new path for a successful
