History of Christian Dior

Christian Dior is a French high-class company that designs and retails high fashion clothing or haute couture, accessories, footwear, jewelry, fragrance, make-up, and skincare products. It is founded in 1946 by the amazing designer, Christian Dior, who was born on January 21st, 1905 in the small town of Granville in Normandy, France. Dior started his interest in fashion designer and let himself get into the fashion industry in the early 1930s. After World War II, he opened his own fashion house in Paris in 1946 by the financial support from Marcel Boussac. In 1947, Dior has created the phenomenon of the fashion industry by launching his new collection in the name of "The New Look" which focused on the design to emphasize female’s proportions. His achievement of this collection has revolutionized women's fashion and made a great reputation for him at the time. As a result, France began to regain its role as the capital of the fashion world, as well as he has been dubbed as the "Style Dictator". Dior had gradually released his collections to the high fashion market in his time of designer. His creation focused on refined materials and delicate embroidery. Many of his incomparable works, such as New Look , Oval Line , Open Tulip , Long Line ,Tulip Line, have fascinated many stylists from all over the world. Dior died in 1957 from a heart attack. The last collection he has left for our world’s fashion industry is called “Fuseau Collection” or “Spindle”. After he passed away, The House of Dior has passed on to Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre and John Galliano.
