Hippa Law Violations
I recently came into Dr. Practon’s office, and you were the medical assistant sitting at the front desk at the time, and you were helping me with getting registered to see my doctor.
I didn’t like that you were very loud discussing my information in front of other patients. That was a violation of my the HIPPA law and I wanted to inform you that I want to switch to a different physician because that was very disrespectful.
Please help me transfer over my records to my new doctor’s office and send them to my address. Please call me for details at 315-7065654 or send them to the following address at 241 Harriette Ave Syracuse NY, 13210

In all of the research I did, the employer can’t get your medical information from your doctor without your consent. HIPPPA only applies to medical records, that a doctor’s office has (Workplace Fairness, N. D.). To be able to file a complaint on HIPPA violations, the people on which you are filling the complaint must be required to follow HIPPA. According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (N.D.) for them to investigate there has to be a violation of the privacy rule. Places that have to comply with the PII rules are doctors, clinics, hospitals, psychologists, chiropractors, nursing…

I have received your message that was left at our office after your visit on March 15, 2012. I am very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience during your visit to our office. As I was checking the record of the time that you were in our office to see why our staff may have acted in this manner, I realized that there was a medical emergency with one of our other patients. That would explain why that Sarah, our receptionist seemed more distracted than usual. Dr. Blackburn would have been rushed to help the…

HIPAA affects the billing process by making sure that patient demographics are accurate and kept confidential. There should be in the patient’s file an authorization to allow a practice to use the confidential information and to bill that patient information to carrier for services. Without this authorization on file the practice may not release or disclose any patient information regarding any treatment that this patient has had and therefore will not be able to seek reimbursement from the payer (Valerius, Bayes, Newby, & Seggern, 2008). A patients’ medical records, the progress notes, reports and other clinical materials are legal documents that belong to the provider who created them. But the provider cannot withhold the information in the records unless providing it would be detrimental to the patients’ health. This information belongs to the patient. Medical insurance specialist handles issues such as requests for information from patient records. They are trained to know what information can be released about patients’ conditions and treatments. HIPPA Violations need to be taken very seriously in the healthcare field. I am sure most employees are not aware of the penalties involved with a HIPPA violation. The American Recovery Act of 2009 created a tiered penalty for HIPPA violations. But it is the Office of Civil Rights that determines the amount of each penalty, and is dependent upon the nature and extent of harm that results from the breach (CMS, 2013).…

It was there that I met the head of the ward doctor with whom I started to development a bitter relationship. Since my mother cannot talk because she was on ventilator, I was exclusively allowed to stay in the ward to look after my mother. As a start, I felt that the doctor didn’t seem to like the presence of me in the ward most of the time while other people could visit at specific time. When I offered him my opinion about the condition of my mother, he didn’t pay much attention about it. I had an impression that he must be an egoistic doctor, yet he possessed an air of confidence and seemed to be well-respected figure by the likes of nurses and fellow doctors.…
