Hillary Clinton Debate Analysis
The Vice President debate was and may be perhaps the best debate we will get this whole year. The V.P. debate touched on many points and was a large surprise to what we had happen before in the last debate. The craziest thing that happened was the swap up of roles. Donald Trump in the second debate interrupted Hillary multiple times. The tides swapped when the candidates for Vice presidency came into this debate. Hillary Clintons vice president, Tim Kaine set the record for this year in number of times he interrupted. This may have influenced Hillary's campaign. This will be the first time that a V.P. debate has helped to choose the next President. The main goals of this debate were completely different yet like minded; for the republicans, …show more content…
Tim Kaine did this by saying, “Do they have a passion in their life that showed up before they were in public life? … Hillary Clinton has that passion. … And that's a sharp contrast with Donald Trump.” This was a sharp attack on Donald trump from right off the bat. When asked the same question Mike Pence she=owed he knew his stuff when asked to defend trump by saying, “in the wake of Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state, where she was the architect of the Obama administration's foreign policy, we see entire portions of the world... literally spinning out of control. I mean, the situation we're watching hour by hour in Syria today is the result of the failed foreign policy… that Hillary Clinton helped lead in this administration and create.” With the smooth way his words flowed into an insult he showed he was definitely a calm and stabilizing person. With this, the V.P. debate had already turned into a tie. The winner of a debate most often is the person who can accomplish their goal quickest. Both candidates had shown their goal straight from the start. That is when it turned to how well can they brand the other candidate. Kaine attacked Trump nearly constantly but did not attack well. His attacks did not have the power that Pence's did. Though few, compared to Kaine’s, Mike Pence's attacks were smooth and well thought out; bringing this

The context of this speech is that on January 18, 1986 the Challenger Shuttle exploded seventy-three seconds into flight. Aboard this aircraft was Christina McAuliffe, the first teacher in Space, who served as an inspiration for school kids nationwide. The speaker of this speech is Ronald Reagan, the President at the time, and his audience is the citizens of the United States. During his speech, Reagan creates a sense of unity and also expresses his feelings of grief. The purpose of each is to convince the Nation that he is a fellow American and to show the value he holds for human life. In order to achieve the impression that Reagan is a fellow American he takes on the persona of a sensitive family man who feels for the loss of his country.…

I believe that Ted Cruz did very well in the debate tonight. He had good arguments and strategies for all questions asked, and debated very well with the other presidential candidates. He is now my favorite candidate. I specifically remember agreeing with him over over Rubio on how to deal with ISIS. He suggested a devastating carpet-bombing of the entire state, where Rubio suggested that we aid Muslims in a civil war against ISIS. I think that Rubio’s approach is a horrible idea because it would just make us more meddlesome and our issue more complicated. I also noticed how multiple republican candidates were subtly trying to put Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the same boat, by grouping them together in giving bad examples of policies…

Comey was a minor assistant US attorney in the late 90s. He only gained power and money by being the DOJ official who "investigated" and cleared Bill Clinton of any wrong-doing in Clinton's totally corrupt pardon (for huge payoffs) of criminal financier Marc Rich as Clinton was leaving the Presidency. This is how Comey began his career as a creature of the "swamp" years ago, as a servant of the Clintons.…

The entire spectacle appears to be a disingenuous attempt by the media to have even legitimate grievances about the debate formats. Because these are not really debates, in the sense that they don’t allow candidates to fully articulate positions, but rather to deflect and defend themselves while attacking opponents’ positions. Reasoned arguments are nearly impossible with eleven people on a single stage, each one trying to stand out from the others. These debates are spectacles, entertainment for the masses and nothing more than excuses for partisans to do…

Can a gamer apply their online skills and traits to real life situations that will solve many of the world's problems? In the TED Talk “Gaming can make a better world” American game designer and author Jane Mcgonigal places much emphasis on the topic of productivity through gaming. She believes that “if the rewards to create a better world, were similar to an online game, then more gamers would be willing to take action to better society”(3:30). She adopts a provocative tone in the form of “creating a better world” in order to engage the viewers. Mcgonigal gets her point across effectively by establishing that skills spent in gaming can be translated into skills used to create real world; however, she doesn't give any inspiring solutions…

In the beginning, Hillary Clinton starts her speech with achievement that women have been achieving which leads everyone to feel proud of today’s world’s women. However, she clearly highlights all the terrible things that women have to deal with, such as rape, burning, abortion, honor killings etc. One of the examples she gave was girls being abused and tortured because they are born as girls. “It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food, or drowned, or suffocated, or their spines broken, simply because they are born girls.” She painted the picture the way her audience would feel sympathy towards these women who have become victims of these kind of violence. The audience would realize that these women weren’t allowed to have…

So this isn’t really about costs, because the government is more efficient than private enterprise in providing social insurance and higher education. If, in some alternate universe, Bernie Sanders were able to win the presidency and enact his proposals in their entirety, it would pose an existential threat to the conservative project to convince Americans that their tax dollars don’t buy much—that government is all about bloat and corruption and giving their hard-earned dollars to the undeserving…

In this set of interviews, Angela Davis simultaneously addresses the issue of why we are stuck in this carceral state while also providing her solution, a solution that many would see as too radical. After first reading this interview, I thought immediately of the conversation we had with the two activists from Hands Up United. Society views her as an “enemy of the state”, as a communist and terrorist because of her use of violence as means to affect change, something very similar to what is happening now on the ground in cities like Ferguson and Baltimore. She also elaborated on tensions within the original civil rights movement because of multiple strands of activism running through the black community (ranging from Martin Luther King and Malcolm X to the Black Panther Party). However, Davis slightly complicates what the speakers from Hands Up said because it becomes clear that this is not a new type of activism (it might simply appear new because of how popular media sources have chosen to represent these events). Still this “new agenda” that she speaks of seems like the most appropriate approach after spending a semester looking at where we stand and how…

After Reconstruction the states that resided in the north were primarily Liberal Republican. This was due from Lincoln’s association with the Republican Party, and the role he had on equal treatment for blacks during the Civil War (Boles pg. 570). Also, the term liberal is associated with the progressive party, which means looking forward. In contrast, the south was primarily Conservative Democratic, with the term conservative associated with being stuck in old ways of doing things. This implies that they did not agree upon the equal opportunities among blacks and whites, because they viewed blacks more as servants. This way of thinking stemmed from before the Civil War, when slavery was still in common practice. So, one of the main divisions between the two parties was the issue on race. Today the south is largely associated with the Conservative Republican platforms, and the north being associated with the Liberal Democratic platforms. The purpose of this paper is to explain how the South transitioned from this solidly Democratic region to one that is today largely recognized as solidly Republican, through the platforms of key politicians had on…

In this speech he underscored the importance of setting aside the enmity each political party had for each other in order to address the greater problem of keeping the country whole. With factions so unwilling to communicate with each other, all because of differing tenants of belief, the democratic government so hardly fought for showed signs of disintegrating due to the great rift in congress. Each party is so desperate to win, utterly determined and dog-like with a meaty bone, lockjawed, to not yield a single iota of power to the opposing power, the parties lost sight of what was truly important, which was seeing to the protection and comfort of the citizens of American. A competitive nature is ok as long as the competition is to solely benefit the individual. However, it is absolutely impossible to reach a group goal without working as a…
