Highwayman Monologue
I have longed for Bess since I began working as the ostler of the old inn. Her incredible beauty caught my eyes and made me fall for instantly. I sadly though will never have a chance at love with Bess because her love is the highwayman.
I envy every moment they spend together and that’s very often. I can tell when he’s present by his movement on the cobblestones, the whip on the shutters and his rhythmical whistling. I needed him gone if I ever was to spend any time with
Bess. I knew my opportunity was coming when I over heard him talking to Bess about returning when the moon bright.
Part Two Everyone believes that the highwayman was careless enough to have King
George locate him, but that’s not what really happened.

Mr Rochester is not the man for Jane because he is nearly twice Jane’s age. ‘ Oh yes. But you see there is a considerable difference in age. Mr Rochester is nearly forty; she is but twenty-five.’ In Jane’s monologue she states ‘ You, a favourite with Mr Rochester? You gifted with the power of pleasing him? You of importance to him in any way? Go! Your folly sicken me.’ Why would Jane be doubting herself so much if she really loved him. She has never come across such a man and doesn’t not know how to feel around him. Jane is a Governess and Mr Rochester is her boss a figure of authority and there is a clear line in the working environment that should never be crossed. They should not be together. Jane saves him twice once when he slid on some ice when they first met, and then she put out a fire that was in his room. Usually it’s would be the man saving and sweeping the…

I remember the time when we ran from the cops and went to the church and met up with Dally and we talked about some good things we done together, like when we went into the dinner and ate together. even witty. Smelled like cigarettes, probably since he also took up smoking since 14 years old, the stress of living in Yokeman can do that to you. At first he hung with out with us, and over time... he started keeping his distance. Then, half a year before graduation he just disappeared. Ryan dropped out of school, not even keeping contact with anyone. It was rumored that his family moved out of state, but at that point I thought he was the luckiest man alive to get out of this place. I used to catch him trying to make eye contact with me, but would turn his head away the moment my eyes look back at him, or he notices the moment I turn my head around he faces the ground or elsewhere assuming I didn’t notice him checking me out. Perhaps…
