High School Sports Narrative
The night before the game I couldn’t sleep because I was excited and nervous. When I woke up I was so excited because the game is going to start in the next few hours. My dad and I left for the game around 9:30, we were in a rush to the stadium to keep from getting lost in the millions of fans. The car was moving as fast as a cheetah. The cold November air breezing through the air, swish, swoosh. Seeing the block O on the fifty yard line gave me goosebumps, seeing my own breath made me nervous. The giant, bright, and scarlet end zones were amazing. Shivering to our seats all bundled up my dad and I found our seats. The stadium was so large like the twin towers. We were so hungry we both could eat a cow, dad went to grab some hot dogs. I could smell those delicious hot dogs from a mile away. The hot dog growled in my mouth. ten minutes before the game started they asked us to stand for the National Anthem. A few minutes later the fans started to roar. I felt like I had butterflies in my stomach. I couldn’t …show more content…
Our defense couldn’t hold Michigan so our offense had to go to work. At the end of the third the score is Michigan seventeen, Ohio State fourteen. Our defense had to have a few big stops to have a chance to win this game. It’s the last three minutes of the game and Ohio State has the ball around their twenty yard line. The offense was moving the ball with some authority. We got the ball to field goal range. The crowd was so silent like deers in the woods. The kick was up and good , the crowd erupted, now it’s time for overtime. The first overtime in Ohio State, Michigan history! It took two plays for Ohio State to score. Michigan was struggling to get a first down. Michigan had the ball. It was fourth down and the student section started roaring, my ears were buzzing like a little bee. Michigan’s QB squeezed a pass through our defense and scored. The crowd silenced but Michigan’s sideline went

Quite possibly the most significant time of my life was during my senior year as part of the Edison High School football team. The story of our 2006 season is a reflection of my life and testimony to my beliefs and values. Underdogs from day one, we represented not only our school, but also our community and families. Early expectations of the 2006 Eagles were low and the surrounding community was under the belief that Edison would be lucky to go 6-4 with the inexperienced players and the loss of such a talented senior class. Suddenly, I was starting as the outside linebacker/defensive end for the first time in my career along with 18 brand new starters. Unexpectedly, a green group of replacements were 5-0, half-way through our season. After…

It was the middle of the summer and I was playing baseball in Jackson, Mississippi. I was playing for the Goodlettsville All-Stars. We were playing in the little league 10u world series. To get to the championship we had to win 8 games and it was single elimination. We had won 7 out of 8 games and we were playing our 8th game and it was the bottom of the third and I was playing left field. In the second inning I was felling drowsy so my dad gave me a Snickers and a Red Bull. I was for sure not drowsy anymore. I could feel the sugar rushing through my veins and I was on the balls of my feet waiting for the pitch to be thrown. When my pitcher threw the ball I had my hand in my glove ready for the ball if it was hit to me. WHAM! The ball was hit so far up in the air it looked like it hit the sun. When I realized that the ball was coming to me I was way too far back so I had to run as fast as I could and dive for the ball. I jumped as far as I could and stretched as far as I could. I barely caught it by snow coning the ball. Everybody was so proud of me that the screamed as loud as they could. We went on to win the game 4-1. The next day I woke up, jumped out of the bed, and put my uniform on. I was so excited, I was in the championship! I…

We got to Charlotte, parked, took a good look at each other faces full of eagerness and off we ventured into the private doors to the stadium seats. I remember walking out of the tunnel leading to our seats and the first thing I noticed, to my surprise, was a plethora of green and yellow. Of course there was more black and blue, but I don’t think either one of us expected that many Packer fans. I looked down at the perfect view I had in front of me. The bright green rectangle of fresh turf and huge screens on each side of the field to catch every minute detail amazed me. We were right in the middle of the field and far enough back to watch as each play unfolded. Being so anxious, we arrived 45 minutes before kick-off leaving us with nothing to do but go grab something to eat. We stepped up to the counter to take in the huge sign with a list of foods. I smelled popcorn and although tempting, I knew exactly what I wanted. “What are you getting?” Nick’s voice interrupted my thoughts of food. “The only thing I ever eat, pizza” I replied back truthfully. He bought my pizza and himself a huge double cheeseburger. After inhaling our food (my mother says we eat too quick), The Packers ran out unto the field for warm-ups. Nick and I both cheered and screamed while dirty looks came our direction from Panther fans. Nick laughed at me for immediately taking my phone out and snapping a million pictures but deep down inside I knew he was glad I was doing it so he wouldn’t have…

“LET’S GO BOYS!!!! LET’S WIN THIS!!! BEAT THESE RAVENS!!!!!!” The crowd was screaming and chanting wildly as we began to run out of the locker rooms and onto the large football field. I lead them, raising my arms up and down to signal the crowd to get louder with their cheers. As I did this, I was also sprinting to the middle of the field through the large slit that was cut for my eyes. I turned back to the crowd in the stands, and the players ran around me, with smiles of their faces, to get to their positions and the bench. I started to jump and raise my arms, “ FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!!” They all chanted my name in union, some of them even had signs and horns! A large smile crept onto my face behind my large mascot mask, and I couldn’t…

It was a frigid, windy, Friday night in October. The only light was the bright and beaming illumination of the stadium lights projecting over the soccer field. The bleachers were full, it seemed as if the whole school was there, and as a freshman with anxiety, it made it hard to cope with the fact, that I was going to be a starter for the varsity soccer team.…

After we got to the city, we spended some time going around it and looking at some other things in the city. Next morning we got up, then got on the tram to the game, it was a 30 minute wait, but it was so worth it because I got to see the houses, how they build them there, the parks, this long and big river right beside the stadium. We finally got there, but we couldn’t go inside because the NFL is not letting people inside with normal bags, we hid the bag inside a bush then we got to go inside the stadium. They played the Jets and I got to see a lot the Steelers players like Antonio Brown, Big Ben. I got to eat a hot dog, popcorn, some other candies. But it was so good, but so much money to get food there. My seats were on the 50 yard line and the weather was sunny, but cool. But the most important time was spending time with…

It was a crisp cold fall day at Lambeau field. I could see everything that was happening the whole entire time. The field was as green as a tree in the middle of Summer. The cold wind was whistling in my ear. The smell the hot dogs, burgers, and turf from the field filled my nose as the game begin. All I could hear were people cheering on the Packers and the jumbotron blaring, “Go pack go!” I could see the running back Eddie Lacy drive the ball into the end zone and everyone went wild. A mix people cheering and screaming filled my ears. After the opposing team returned the ball everyone started cheering, “Defense, defense, defense!” The watched the ball get intercepted and run down the field for another touchdown! The crowd roared and I got…

“Take away my good name, take away my life” This is a quote that I’m sure everyone in this room can probably relate to. We all remember our high school days, we wanted everyone to know our name. We wanted popularity and our reputation meant the world to us. What we do and how we act reflects directly on our name. For Shea Simmons what happened to her name was not her fault. Shea spent countless hours practicing and working on Mock Trial, working towards getting the scholarship from the Metropolitan Bar Foundation. Everything seemed perfect and at the end of the finals-they had won! However, all that came crashing down a few days later. Because of one childish blog post, a coach with a thirst for winning, and a jealous teenager Shea’s dreams…

I remember it like it was yesterday, well if you wanted to be technical you could say I remembered the whole last week, considering this was nearly the seventh time it had happened. I remember falling to my knees with my head against the fabric of my bed sheets while balling my weary eyes up into huge puddles of tears buried in my pillow, asking myself why didn't they pick me ? "why aren't I good enough ?!". Making the school Basketball team is something that was a very huge goal for me at the start of every school year, and a motive at the start of every summer.Till this day I haven't made neither my middle school nor high school Basketball team, I've only came very close. My freshman year of high school is where it hurt the most. I had finally started to get a…
