You get your head in the right set of mind and it gives u a taste of responsibility as I’ve always said to myself. Although sports can be fun, can they benefit you in the long run, like when you’re a grown adult and moved on, on your own?
I take a look at my parents every day and I say to myself, how in the world did to get to be so fortunate. I mean they are wealthy, they do well in life from the looks of it. And when I look at my parents, I think to myself. What got them to be what they are now and I sit there and wonder what god has in store for me in the future. I honestly do think that going to college is indeed the only way to a better life style until I read an article one day stating that high school athletes earn lifetime benefits. Research tells on how high school athletes gained life time benefits from just playing sports. Other researchers tell on how people that play high school sports get better jobs than the average person and with better pay. Stating that just because they played sports in high school, they get to

They have had one of the biggest positive impacts. According to my high school, a student-athlete had to keep up with their grades to participate. Not only was this good for myself, but everyone had high grades because they wanted to be a apart of a team. This rule pushed me to get my homework done, get good grades, and not be lazy in school. Besides being part of a team, sports get you into great physical shape and keep you there. The workouts are tough and all you want to do sometimes is quit, but in the back of your mind you keep telling yourself that you’re getting this great workout. I’m extremely athletic and love to keep in shape. Keeping up with the workouts and being on teams all year long have made athletics a part of my life. Some may argue that sports play an important role in teaching life lessons to athletes. Yes, you can learn valuable things through sports, but you can take on even better traits through school and teamwork activities in the classroom without the problems that athletics comes with, like injuries and pressure. As a student in High School, there are many things that influence my learning and my ability to learn. Sports have the highest amount of influence on how I do in school. The positive influence sports have on my high school grades and learning process include keeping my grades up in order to be able to play those sports. Music can influence your mood and how you feel about a situation. For example, in horror movies they will play creepy music that makes you feel the need to be scared and go through suspense. The makers of those horror movies would not choose music that makes you happy. Also, music can have a huge influence on everything in life in…

One reason high school sports aren’t beneficial is because they create a lot of pressure. According to the video “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” by KCRA, sports are sometimes the only way students can get into a good college and be able afford it. This puts a lot of pressure on the athletes to perform at their best 100% of the time. Experts say that your child's entire team will suffer if the parents are pressuring their kids (KCRA.com, “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” ). This fact is important because it proves, when parents put pressure on their children it does not benefit them, in fact it is actually setting them up for life in an unhealthy way. Being a student athlete should be a privilege, a reward; it should always come second, after the students education. It seems that student athletes get special treatments, getting away with having low grades, having an extended time to do assignments, or even being excused from them. There needs to be a more strict policy in order to be on a high school sports team and to play in games. After all, high schools do not require students to participate in team or individual sports.…

In my opinion, I am able to see both sides of this issue extremely well because I am a student athlete myself. Although I am not a student-athlete in the NCAA, I am a member of the University of Windsor women’s soccer team and have to balance being enrolled as a full-time student and a full-time athlete. In Canada you never see full-ride scholarships leading to a free education and I think NCAA athletes are unaware how fortunate they are to not have to worry about future debt. A quote by John Smith states, “I think we have a responsibility as student athletes. For those who are on scholarship, it’s about you appreciating the fact that you are being rewarded”. During our time competing in youth sports we are oblivious to what the future has in store for us and we are playing to have fun, learn new skills, and be with friends.…
