High School Memory Research Paper
My most memorable memory included eggs, confetti, and confusion. This day had many odd occurrences, from window paint, eggs, flour, camouflage, and a roller coaster of emotions. The best memory ever to me was the last day of my senior year of high school. That day started off as any normal last day of high school. There were camera flashes, k.i.t (keep.in.touch) in yearbooks, smiles, yearbooks flying around the cafeteria, and saying goodbye to teachers. As the day progressed, it was good being able to hang out with my whole class before walking the stage.
The school wanted those of us who had to take finals to review for them. I did not want to review. I just wanted to run around campus hiding from the administration. It was fun hiding at

The eggs with confetti are a Mexican tradition that they do at birthday parties and graduation parties. Ricardo gave me two dozen eggs to have. We all were excited and thrilled that we had something to have fun with at the end of the slide show. The administration put us all in the gym. Once we sat they had the passing the ceremony of school key down to the junior class, they let us sit on the gym floor and watch our slideshow. The lights in the gym were turned off. The slide show went on; all of a sudden there were eggs flying toward us. I thought that it was time to start throwing the eggs with confetti. I got hit, but this egg had yolk; none of the eggs we had were with yolk in them. Then a roll of toilet paper was flying midair. The administration was going crazy trying to stop the eggs and toilet paper flying everywhere. When I turned and saw that the junior class was the ones who were throwing eggs and toilet paper, I was upset that they were trying to be funny with our class. Once the administration got everything under control told us ‘’we have footage of the whole fiasco we going to review it. There will be big consequences for the big fiasco.’’ I was upset also they wanted to blame my friend, Ricardo, saying that he started it all and that he was not going to be able to walk during graduation. It was upsetting. After everything was cleared he was able to walk with the

My best childhood memory is going to Six Flags. Me, Tommy, Anthony, and Connor are going to Six Flags. Their mom is taking us. I was very excited to go to Six Flags because it would be my first time going. When we finally got there. We parked the car and walked to the gates. When we got into the park. Connor wanted to ride the cyclone. Tommy and Anthony asked if I wanted to ride it. I said, “No.” but they pulled me into doing it. So, we waited in line. When we got to the front of the line. We got on the roller coaster and the ride started. When we started to go up I was nervous. When we got to the top, and as we were going down I couldn’t even hear myself scream. After the ride we rode rides around the park. Then, we went to the water park…

The SAD PERSONS scale is a mnemonic list of known suicide high risk characteristics. When determining whether a victim has high risk factors will help first aiders maintain objectivity. Also, it is important to maintain a nonjudgmental approach. However, using the SAD PERSONS mnemonic can help acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and also reminds the first aiders that ridiculing, making demeaning comments or ignoring the person are not helpful nor proper. Also, when dealing with a victim that has high risk factors of suicide, take precautions, such as: keeping the person under close observation, remove any dangerous items, and not allowing the person to go anywhere,…

The day that will forever live in infamy, September 11th, 2001. The tragic attacks executed by terrorist killed thousands of American lives, and I was only twenty five miles from ground zero. A five year old at the time, just on the outskirt of New York City, during biggest terrorist attack ever committed on U.S Soil. I remember seeing the smoke emerging into the sky far in the distance, from the little beach town of Point Lookout. At the time I had no idea what was happening. People were scared, the Great city of New York stopped in its own tracks. My family didn’t really leave the house for a while after the attack, since we were afraid of any other crazy event happened. You never know, It’s New York. My Mother swears she saw the smoke billowing up for at least a week after. The country was in a pandemic, and my father was soon out of a job. The book that I choose to read this 9 week period is called Memory by Will Weaver. The book is based on the lives of a family of 4 people; Miles, Sarah, and their two parents. Memory Boy starts out in the Mid West after a mountain range in Washington erupts and spews ash what seems billions of feet up, and over the entire United Sates like a blanket. The ash is so thick that people have to wear dust masks outside to avoid the risk of breathing it in. Miles and his family finally decide to leave the town that they live in to head northwest. Since the ash is so heavy they can’t drive a car because those are restricted, and people can only use them on certain days to avoid the problem of pollution. So Miles assembles a new vehicle that he calls the Princess. It is a mix between a bicycle and a boat that they must pilot by either peddling, or when there is enough wind they have a sail from a boat to put up. They decide to leave under the curtain of night to avoid being detected by other people who would want to take their vehicle from them. As they make their way North they must face encounters with many obstacles such as road blocks, bandits, hunger, the government, nature, each other, and other hazards. In between telling us about they’re adventure north, Miles, who is the main character tells us the events leading up to their departure, starting with the day that the eruption happened. The novel starts out a peaceful journey by the family but they soon learn that their trip will not be easy and they must work together to survive.…

The summer following my sixth grade year was full of kick the can, capture the flag, ghost in the graveyard, and many more games played with the neighborhood kids. Some games got out of hand at times. As I tried to tag Conner to stop him from scoring in our little game of capture the ball, I seemed to forget I had a tree in the middle of my yard and I ran straight into it. Once during a competition of “America’s Got Talent” Logan mooned all of us, leaving us girls petrified. Then one hot summer night I was running the bases as we continued our game of whiffle ball while Trenton started to pee in the open onto our homemade bases made of rocks... he didn’t receive chocolate chip cookies with the rest of us that night. Out of all our eventful times the one I treasure most is when we set up our own little camp site. We found two tents and connected them both in my backyard. We slept outside, one tent for the boys and one for the girls. Eventually the boys got scared by a gunshot we heard in the distance so they joined us but were kept at a distance by my mother who kept an eye on us that night. Long games of truth or dare were…

One of the more fascinating phenomena in Psychology has been the false memory syndrome. False memories gained notoriety in 1960s America, when record levels of therapy patients reported that they had been sexually abused by family members, but were only able to recover these previously suppressed and unrecognized memories of said abuses while in therapy. This led many psychological researchers to conclude that particular psychodynamic practices used by therapists were more than likely the source of these false memories. To support these claims, researchers went on to demonstrate that false memories could be induced in participants using complex paradigms such as paragraphs or simple word list paradigms, as all memory at its…

It was a normal September morning. I was in my second grade class with my favorite teacher Mrs. McClellan. We had just arrived to school and put our backpacks in the closet. We had already been through the normal announcement process and said “The Pledge of Allegiance.” My teacher wanted us to clean our desks with shaving cream, so my classmates and I were spraying shaving cream all over the desks and playing around when our class phone rang. My teacher answered the phone and began to shake. She dropped the phone suddenly and fell to her knees and began to cry. All I remember seeing after that was our principle and other teachers scrambling to get all of us out of school and on to the buses as quickly as possible.…
