High-School Job Description
Throughout high school my activities list included cross country running, tennis, art club, mission club, choir, and managing for the girls basketball team. I also did numerous amounts of volunteer work through my school and a local hospital for all four years of high school. In college I then participated in intramural volleyball, relay for life, and an art club on campus. About a year into college I got a job working for a family practice office. The job description started off with helping an RN with work in a government program designed to help patients take more initiative with their health and therefore leading to less money spent on emergency care, etc. After time I earned adopting new jobs around the office such as front desk, scanning

In the Self-directed search my code is SIC. Some of the occupations that match my code are a hearing aid specialist, informatics nurse specialist, critical care nurse, and telecommunicator. The leisure activities that I may enjoy based on my code include ghost hunting, mythology, nutrition, self-help groups, and tutoring. The other occupations I thought about earlier in life were a preschool teacher, secondary school teacher, and an ultrasound technologist. None of these match my code. The teachers are SAE and ultrasound technologist is RSI. My aspirations summary code is SAR. Even though this doesn’t match my SDS code it doesn’t mean that I can’t do a certain occupation. Knowing these results will help give me more ideas and also help me…

Over the past several years I have worked as a substitute at Hindman Elementary. During that time I have filled a variety of positions, giving me the chance to become very well aquatinted with both the staff and the layout of the school. i was given the opportunity to work in the office quite frequently last school year, so much so, that I was given my own log in for the school's Infinite Campus, with limited access. From my substitute experience I know the daily routine of the school and have learned how to do a few things in the office such as, using the intercom, fax, and taking and transferring calls. I consider myself a friendly, hardworking, and trustworthy person. These qualities are desirable for any job, especially those working with…

Job descriptions are necessary to define the required knowledge, skills, responsibilities, training, experience, certification or licensure, and outline of reporting for a specific job within an organization. Carolyn Youssef (2012), states that “a job description identifies characteristics of the job to be performed in terms of the tasks, duties, and responsibilities to be fulfilled” (The Job Analysis section, para.1). A job description has significant impact across the whole range of Human resources management because it provides the employer with job information for posting and advertising a job. In addition, a job description is a good tool for employers to explain and clarify duties, responsibilities, and reporting lines of a job to a new employee.…

From a young age we’re asked what we want to be when we grow up, never how we expect to become when we grow up. I was well aware of what I wanted to become, but not sure how to get there until I started high school when my counselor explained to me the importance of having a full portfolio with a wide range of extracurricular activities. Then it became clear to me, I needed extracurricular activities to become who I wished to be. Throughout my high school career I’ve participated in several extracurricular actives such as math club, soccer and UIL One Act. In the future, I want to participate in these activities or anything similar to those I participated in high school.…

Throughout my life I have focused on school, sports, and working. Balancing all three of these at the same time was very difficult, but I made it work. Challenging myself has been a big part of my high school years both in and out of school. After starting sports at the age of three, balancing school and sports became a daily routine. Through high school I have played soccer all year long and almost every day. Being involved in both high school and travel teams, 3v3 leagues, and winter leagues has built up my responsibilities and handling the pressure of keeping my schedule in line. Making money was also a priority I made for myself after I received my driver's license. I got a job at my local pool the year I started driving. This was only a summer job so after my soccer season in the fall, I looked for another job. I got hired at the local movie theatre and worked there throughout my junior year of high school. I returned to the pool in the summer because I enjoyed it so much and plan to keep returning throughout high school and college.…

Students of all ages, starting from fourteen should be able to hold jobs, but only under certain conditions. They would have to be responsible young adults that can handle juggling job while also managing their school work. Child labor laws and things of that nature should be placed into the decision of having the teens as young as fourteen working. I believe that students should be able to hold jobs as long as they can prove that they can handle and maintain a C average in all classes. The students with lower grades shouldn’t be able to hold jobs until their grades are average.…

During my senior year of high school I was responsible for my 4-H club’s booth design, multiple yearbook pages, track practice, helping direct my Senior Musical as I was student director, filling out scholarships, and manage any homework that came along the way. I struggled at times but the best solution I found for being responsible for many things at the same time was making myself a time schedule of what was going on, when I was free, and after my busy school life, planning my evenings when I had time for homework, when was designing time, scholarship time etc. Also whenever I had unexpected free time I made sure I used it to my advantage to free up other time later if I completed one of my many things to do. Otherwise my other go to…

As a teenager I worked two jobs; the first was a Sax Food and Drug, a grocery store and the second was at Plants and Things, where I took care of all the plants and outside furniture. Etzioni would think that I was not a good student, meaning that because I worked two jobs I wouldn’t be doing well in school, I would be making money that was solely for me and I would not be learning any valuable lessons from these jobs. I have to disagree with Etzioni, I worked these two jobs so I could go to college after high school and not have to work. I saved my money for things I would need living on campus. I also did very well in high school, graduating with a 3.8 grade point average, being a member of National Honors Society and graduating in the top of my class. I did not by frivolous things. Yes I had to pay for my own car insurance and car payment, but that taught me responsibility. I wanted to be an adult and my parents showed me that being an adult has financial responsibilities.…

A belief that I have come to hold after starting high school is that private schools fall short of the most important benefits that public schools have to offer. I have learned this through my own personal experience of going to a catholic grammar school for nine years, and then transitioning to the public high school that I currently attend. Of course, the main purpose of going to school is to gain a good education that will help you be successful in the future. This belief I do hold true; both private and public schools grant this opportunity. But public schools and private schools each grant an entirely different social experience, and the social experience, in my opinion, is much more valuable than the academic experience.…
