Benjamin, I agree with you that a high ankle sprain involves the interosseous ligament and is more often seen in football and skiing injuries the reason is that ligaments are used to keep these bones together and ligaments are strong band which have elastic property and are made up of connective tissue but the second most important thing in stabilizing the joint is tendon. Tendon is an attachment site for muscles. There are three different types of ankle injuries namely; Sprains, Strains and Fractures ("Ankle Injuries: Causes and Treatments", 2016). Fracture can be treated by applying plaster in the affected region so that the fractured bone is kept steady and still and it gets enough time and force to get fixed on its location.

anatomical and biomechanical makeup of the lateral side of the ankles have an innate vulnerability to ligamentous sprain. Inversion and eversion are permitted by two joints, the talocrural and the subtalor joint (Hertel et al, 1999). The lateral malleolus is comparably longer than the medial, which happens to create a fulcrum that inclines the ankle to inversion sprains (Booher & Thibodeau, 1994). The lateral ligament complex of the ankle is made up of the anterior talofibular ligament, posterior talofibular…

First, the Anterior-Posterior (AP) view is a straight on view, set at an angle in which the ankle joint can be viewed…
