Hideki Tojo Research Paper

HIdeki Tojo was japanese general born in Tokyo on Dec. 30, 1884.(1) He was the eldest son in his family and followed in his father,Hidenori Tōjō’s footsteps attending military school and joining the military. (3) He married his wife Katsuko Tojo together they had 3 sons Hidetake, Teruo and Toshio and four daughters Mitsue, Makie, Sachie and Kimie. Tojo was Politically, a fascist, nationalist, and militarist, and was nicknamed "Razor" or Kamisori, for his reputation of having a sharp and legalistic mind capable of quick decision making.(1)

Hideki Tojo's rise to power started after he had finished military school in March 1905 when he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the infantry of the IJA. (1) then 23 years later he was promoted to the bureau chief of the Japanese Army and soon after,colonel. Then in 1934 he was promoted again to major general during this time he served as Chief of the Personnel
Even when japan's downfall began hideki tojo refused start negotiations. Once the americans reached the island of saipan and were within bombing range of japan tojo was forced to step down by the members of his cabinet and some senior statesmen. After words attempted to commit a form of Seppuku honorable suicide, by shooting himself in the chest 4 times where an outline of his heart was traced by his doctor, However he missed and instead hit his stomach. Soon after he was tried and hung as a war criminal.
