Hi Shreesha Leadership Style
Hi Shreesha,

Thanks for providing feedback on Daniella. I saw from your feedback that an area for improvement was in leadership. Do you happen to have examples or specific recommendations rather than simply leadership? It’s a pretty broad topic and my observations will likely be different than your first had experiences. I also might think you want/need leadership in areas where you in fact don’t. Make sense? Happy to discuss

The positive aspect of this approach is that the task is always going to be completed on time and to a high standard, but the team may not feel that enough time is spent on developing their skill set and stronger members of the team may feel that they are carrying weaker members of the team creating disharmony within the team as a whole. This will probably go un-noticed if the task is the main focus and the first indicator may be a high turnover of staff and a reduction in overall performance.…

Being a leader is more that motivating others to strive harder and accomplish goals. It’s more about gathering everyone with different skills, religion, ethnicity, etc. and making them one. As a leader, the task is to develop new strategies, tackle problems as soon as they start, recognize signs of stress, leave personal problems as home, put the job first, etc. Not everyone makes a great leader because time isn’t implemented to make changes that are necessary and don’t put the needs of the organization and members in thought. Different types of leadership styles exist in work environments. There are advantages and disadvantages within each leadership style. The culture and goals of an organization determine which leadership style fits the firm best. Some companies offer several leadership styles within the organization. Organizations need strong leadership and strong management for optimal effectiveness. Effective leadership is contingent on matching a leader’s style to a setting that fits (Northouse, 2007). According to Fiedler’s Contingency Theory, leadership styles are operationalized primarily on two ends of a spectrum, they are characterized as task motivated, or relationship motivated (Northouse, 2007). I believe in the adage that practice makes perfect. In this paper, I will look into an alternative way for leaders to lead when they find themselves situated in an unfavorable situation. In the case of leadership; an administrator, manager, or supervisor should use a reflective mindful praxis to improve their ability to make decisions that will achieve optimal outcomes from the organizations they lead in all situations, especially unfavorable ones.…

Leadership, to me, is defined by the vision of the leader. It is strategic and comes from within. I feel leadership and management are not one in the same. A leader looks to instill values and to promote a vision. Their values are directed towards the team and the goal is to lead by example. A manager does need to possess at least some of the crucial leadership qualities; however, management can be learned whereas I don 't feel leadership can be taught.…

When it comes to leadership styles, I feel that bringing a new perspective best fits with my strengths, character, personality, and skills (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, slide 3, 2015). While employing communication skills may be an obvious leadership style, I work hard to bring a fresh perspective to whatever project I am doing. Take my previous example, what enabled me to succeed was not communication, but rather demonstrating a different perspective. The GED® program at the library was just getting started and had some struggles, I was brought on to help provide a different perspective as to what issues existed. I have the ability to monitor what needs to be said when the situation permits and with the woman in charge, this was a necessity. She has…

According to John Gardner, in On Leadership, "Leadership is the process of persuasion or example by which an individual (or leadership team) induces a group to pursue objectives held by the leader or shared by the leader and his or her followers." I believe that I would be a good leader because I believe that all effective leaders recognize that their power to achieve organizational objectives comes from having a motived workforce who shares in the organization’s vision. In addition to my ability to establish clear visions and identifies ways to achieve goals, I am a people-oriented individual who believe that people perform at their best when the work that they do enables them to achieve their highest potentials both as human beings and as employees. This means that I do not take an authoritative approach to leading. Rather, I believe in empowering every employee. For these reasons my leadership style is best reflected in the transformational model of leadership. By definition, a transformation leader is a “leader who motivates followers to perform to their full potential over time by influencing a change in perceptions and by providing a sense of…

My leadership style according to the VARK questionnaire was an action-oriented. The action-oriented leadership involves taking action and leading by example. An action-oriented leader has a strong sense of immediacy, focusing on the task in hand and seeing it through to fruition. I agree completely with the results of the questionnaire. I have always been the type of person that would not ask anyone to do a job that I would not do regardless of how bad the job was. I want to be the leader that my team members see that I will help them with their projects and they know that I too have been in the same shoes as them. The insight that I give them they will know that I learned it through experience in the job. I am the type that…
