Hernan Cortes: A Good Or Bad Job?
Throughout the course of history, Hernan Cortes was viewed as a hero and as one of the most important figures in the conquering of the Americas. He was also a Spanish conquistador, who led an expedition in 1518 that finally mastered the powerful Mexican empire. It was pretty basic stuff that everyone knew and that our elementary history teachers taught us. But now we wonder, especially me, in his adventure that brought him to America, did he do a good or bad job?
Many people, view Hernan Cortes as this good person who went to spread the love of God with his Christianity to the Natives. Others, saw him as this bad and evil, heartless person who just killed everyone one and just went to the Americas in search of gold and slaves. Some, even see

    Howard Zinn gives a very negative first=impression on Christopher Columbus. Although students learn about Christopher Columbus throughout school, the whole truth is not told.
