1. What is our problem?
The major problem for Hector Gaming Company is that there is no set vision or mission. Also, there is a lack of common goal.

2. Identify some symptoms of the problem?
Some symptoms of the problem would be that there is a lack of communication. Hector Gaming Company needs to analyze and formulate strategies to reach objectives. There is no real team work involved. I think that it’s best that they review and define the organizational mission. Also, it would be helpful to set long range goals and objectives.

3. What is the major cause of the problem?
In my opinion I think that the major cause of the problem is the organizational politics. It seems as if everyone needs to be brought back to the same page. This can be obtained by setting goals and objectives together as a team. Also, they need to take all the projects and put them through some sort of decision criteria. By doing that it will help the company choose the projects that are most crucial to the organization.

My analysis
As mentioned above, the underlying issue is that the organization does not have a clear mission of where the company is going. The strengths is Peter’s entrepreneurial spirit, their unique industry specialist, and the growth rate for the last two years being approximately 80& each year. Their weakness is too many projects taking place at one time, conflict of interest, and lack of internal communication. Their opportunity is that they have a unique product that has niche educational value. It is a well-established brand. Their threats consist of potential loss of industry talent to other companies, the increase elements of competition and the threat of substitution. One action is to do nothing, but you have potential of losing key employee’s. Also, you could revise the mission statement; if they do you can bring the company back in line and on the same page. Last, Fire some or all of your top 10 managers, but you have the potential of losing valuable

According to Wager, Lee, & Glaser (2009), one of the leading reasons for IT failure is lack of clarity in the project. Lack of clarity is usually the result of unclear leadership that leads project teams to disbelief in the project itself. If the project team is lead by strong organizational leadership, the team will usually work harder to achieve the goals set forth by the organization. Teams will not work as hard if they are unsure about how to use a new system, thus leading them to believe that the new system will most likely increase their workload. Project teams must have well defined leadership initiatives when implementing new IT systems.…

We believe that Tony Marshall should could have the team take the MBTI assessment in order to determine their type. They should could also participate in a team building activity that will allow them to become familiar with the similarities/differences between the team members and set ground rules. In addition, the team can divide the work equally so that one individual does not deliver for the whole team and everyone should be responsible for his or her own individual work. Communication is one of if not the most important part of successes when dealing with a small to large amount of people, if you have 10 over even 100 people working on a single project and they are not in constant communication with each other than will most likely be doing double the work. You must out line the groups purpose. You must see how the group 's interests tie into their…

This is caused by the lack of commitment. Team members are not going to hold each other accountable if no one has committed to the project or plan. When a team is functioning properly they are able to hold each other accountable without taking offense. Each team should have the same standards of levels of performance. By not having accountability, team members learn that it is acceptable to miss deadlines and have mediocre performance. If team members are unwilling to hold each other accountable it pushes the burden of discipline on to the leader which can cause resentment towards the leader. Teams who are committed to accountability are able to quickly identify problems without hesitation, which establishes respect between team members when everyone if held to the same…

In this case study Roger Cahill has been acting as the head of mobile division for less than a year. Currently he is struggling as he faces great difficulties adapting BoldFlash to a changing marketplace. The problem really started a year ago when Mr. Jim Harrison appointed the young Roger Cahill to a VP position. Although Roger has led a research project in his previous work, he is only 24 years old and inexperienced to manage a company at VP level. Positions at those levels require years of strategic leadership and management skills. Nevertheless in the last 12 months, the company focused primarily on the redundant production of customized chips without further research or product development in new and upcoming areas like the storage device. This negligence from both product development and marketing is a huge loss to the company as they missed out on the opportunity to launch new product line; therefore missed the opportunity to penetrate the potential market. Now the company has old products not priced competitively and struggling to penetrate the marketshare. Also the four groups within the division, product development, marketing, sales and manufacturing are constantly in conflict and don’t have the reinforcement from the leadership to work as a team. Although Cahill has observed the dysfunctions, he has not implemented any processes or trainings to work as a cross functional team. The company’s profit margins are low and Cahill has to take initiatives to suggest number of changes. With the staff that has low morale and lacking motivation, Cahill has to develop action plan for improvement. He has to define roles and propose organization change design to deliver an outcome necessary to be successful and generate higher profits.…
