Heavenly Bodies
This is a heavenly picture of a supernatural man with huge wings like a big bird; he has a long wooden spear piercing down on a big man with two horns and a pitch fork in his left hand.
The Angel is enrobed in a blue and red robe, with a golden helmet and braces around his head and ankles respectively. His posture is representative of a majestic state of being such that only a supernatural being could assume. He hovers above the demon with such an air of commanding authority that defines his powerful status as an angel. Directly beneath the angel lies the overcome Lucifer that seems to be struggling to avoid the inevitable end that is about to befall him. This picture completely represents the biblical view of how Lucifer

The bright yellow colour of the angel makes him an interesting contrast to the rest of the image. While the piece mainly focuses on dull, natural, muted tones to convey the negative emotions in the image, the yellow is a stark opposite. It draws attention to the angel and conveys that he is different from the rest of the world. The size of the angel compared to the couple also enforces that he is a menacing figure. The couple are in what could be considered the foreground, so the fact that the angel, who is in the middle ground, is still larger than them gives him a sense of power over the…

This sculpture shows an eagle and a man. The bird is sitting upright on the left hand side of the sculpture and the man is crouching to the right of him. The man is facing the eagle and feeding it from a bowl in his left hand. In the man’s right hand there is a pitcher. The man is wearing a pointed hat with flaps, and he has curly hair. The man appears to be young, around 25. Between the man's right arm and his right thigh is a clock like cloth that drapes behind the man. This man is crouching down and his back and shoulders are hunched over. His right knee is touching the ground and his left foot is flat on the floor making his left knee level with his right hand and the bowl. The man’s eyes are looking at the eagle's eyes, but the eagle is looking into the bowl that he is drinking or eating from. The point of the man’s hat is bent forward in a way that mimics the eagles head. The eagle is shown in hieratic scale, almost as large as the man. The man is crouching down in a servant like position, and is performing…

They were brought through the tunnels, which glistened and shone with every step they took. When they finally got out of the tunnels, they were greeted by a city covered in a pure gold coat. It shone even more than any regular gold you normally see. They kept walking, and soon came across a certain building that was taller than the rest. It had a large spire on the top, inside which was a large crystal that shone with the light of a thousand suns. When they stepped inside, it was completely empty except for a long hallway with a large double door at the end of it. It took what felt like an eternity to walk down the hallway, in which they were constantly being poked by the guard’s spears. Eventually they made it to the end and the other angels disappeared into thin air and reappeared at the other end of the…

The fact that the old man is blind embodies the creature’s interpretation of himself as undesirable, prefixed from his father’s abandonment and other’s reactions. “I had sagacity enough to discover that the unnatural hideousness of my person was the chief object of horror with those who had formerly beheld me. My voice, although harsh, had nothing terrible in it…” (112) The creature begins to capture the man with his kind words. Sadly, when the family walks in their reaction is indescribable for the creature is once again disappointed and misjudged based on appearance. Although this time, with all the effort he had, the creature is truly heartbroken from this human experience, “My heart sank within me as with bitter sickness…” The creature’s path of love was in shambles as he now searched for destruction instead of acceptance. “My protectors had departed, and had broken the only link that held me to the world.”(119) His fall and loss of innocence is reflected through a book mentioned by Mary Shelly, “Paradise lost”. The fallen angel, Satan, even had companions. Depicting that even the fall of Satan’s can be seen as one not close to as lonely as the creatures fall. The sun was right on the horizon line and Lucifer was outside looking right at it as he waited. It was a chill, breezy day and would only get colder and the night came. The clouds appeared to have a salmon or orange tint to them with how the sun was sitting and Lucifer had to admit, it looked rather nice outside. He would be taking his advantage of looking outside and enjoying this before he would get thrown in the cage again by whoever desired to reach him first and attempt to get him in there now. The Winchester did throw him in there before, but he managed to escape with the help of a few people. As far as he knew, the Winchesters had no idea that he was back out and the only one who did, was his soulmate; Alexandria. That was who he was…

Nicolaus Copernicus’s book “The Revolutions of the Heavenly Bodies” was a book that challenged the way people think and made them rethink what they knew as fact. When Copernicus was born on February 19, 1473, there was only one view/model of the universe, which was Ptolemy’s model. His Geocentric Universal model, where the earth is the center of the universe and everything rotates around us, there was no question that this was fact. That was the case until Copernicus came and opened their minds to another possibility. Copernicus was a man who was born into a merchant family, but was soon orphaned at the young age of 10, he then lived with his aunt and uncle, the latter was an important bishop. This…

Angels are many times presented as being dressed in white flowing robes with halos and wings. They are usually depicted with long flowing hair and surrounded by bright white light. It is not unusual to see angels presented in movies, television and literature as taking human form and assisting people by performing various supernatural acts, such as flying or performing miracles. Angels are almost always presented as good and peaceful beings having been sent by God to assist humankind. These representations many times do not agree with scripture, but the overwhelming popularity of angels in our culture is undeniable.…
