The Healthy Delight Program The Freeport Parents Teachers Association and the School Board of Directors is submitting its proposal to the Jamaica Giving Program to support its healthy delight program for students age 4-12 Obesity has risen to epidemic proportions in the United States. This escalating problem carries with it significant costs, both in terms of dollars and lives. The number of overweight children continues to rise, with African American and Hispanic children disproportionately affected by the problem. The Freeport Elementary School serves 300 students from ages 4 through twelve, from pre kindergarten to fifth grade.
