PROJECT PLAN

I. INTRODUCTION * The dish that we will be making is the Chicken Garden Pasta; enjoy the fresh tastes of spring all year ‘round. It only requires a few inexpensive ingredients and it is really easy to make. This flavourful dish brings plenty of colour and heart-smart antioxidants to the dinner table. II. STANDARDIZED RECIPE (make sure to use a standardized recipe and convert the recipe to 6 or 7 servings, depending on how many you are in the group)

RECIPE TITLE: Chicken Garden PastaRECIPE CATEGORY:RECIPE YIELD: 6 OR 7 SERVINGSSERVING SIZE: ½ cup | INGREDIENTS: * 1 ½ can (21.75 oz) Del Monte ® Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic and Oregano * 9 oz. (3 cups) dried rotini or penne pasta * 3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut in strips * 3 cups sliced green or yellow sweet pepper * 2 1/4 medium onion, thinly sliced * 1 ½ tbsp. olive oil * (Optional) garlic powder * (Optional) salt * (Optional) pepper * (Optional) olives * (Optional) Parmesan cheese | PROCEDURE:1. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
2. Meanwhile, season chicken with garlic powder, salt and pepper, if desired.
3. Cook chicken, sweet pepper and onion in oil in large skillet over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink. Add undrained tomatoes; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Add olives, if desired.
4. Toss with hot pasta. Serve with shredded Parmesan cheese, if desired. | PREPARATION TIME: Prep time: 10 min COOKING TIME: Cook time: 40 min |
