Fall Prevention Policy
Each unit in the hospital have fall prevention committee that develops policy on how to prevent fall incidents among patients and how to reduce injuries related to fall during hospitalization. Some of the fall prevention policies include wearing of non-skid foot wear, use of bed alarm, and mandatory hourly rounds.
Intravenous Therapy Policy
This policy was designed by the hospital to outline nursing care and management of peripheral and central intravenous therapy (IV) for the administration of IV solutions. This policy enables the nurse to adequately provide IV site care, manage IV solutions administration and prevent complications associated with IV therapy (Tan, Tai, Sim, & Ng, 2017).
