Research Paper Assignment
Each student enrolled in this course will write a research paper topic on a subject of their own choosing that pertains to the history of the United States between 1763 to 1791. Students must select the topic of their paper by either Monday, 8 September 2014 (for classes that meet on Mondays and Wednesdays) or Tuesday, 9 September 2014 (for classes that meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays). A list of suggested topics will be provided to students to assist them with the process of deciding on a topic. PLEASE NOTE: Students who have not selected a topic by the posted deadline for their class will have 25 points deducted from their overall Research Paper grade. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.

Students enrolled in this course must submit a statement of theme, their thesis for their Research Paper, and a Preliminary Bibliography on either Tuesday, 12 October 2014 (for classes that meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays) or Wednesday, 13 March 2014 (for classes that meet on Mondays and Wednesdays). PLEASE NOTE: Students who do not turn in these items by the posted deadline for their class will have 25 points deducted from their overall Research Paper grade. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.

The final drafts of Research Papers are due during class on either Tuesday, 25 November 2014 (for classes that meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays) or Wednesday, 26 November 2014 (for classes that meet on Mondays and Wednesdays). PLEASE NOTE: Late Research Papers will not be accepted by the professor. Students who do not turn in their Research Papers on or before the posted deadline for their class will receive a zero for their Research Paper grade. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
