Michael Jackson
Childhood:
In a typical life cycle at this stage, a child would be influenced by peer groups, education, values, culture, religion and beliefs; as well as having the opportunity to experience life through daily experiences such as, playing with friends, watching cartoons and movies within a generally normal home life.
Peer Groups:
Michael was never able to experience being a part of peer groups, as his father never allowed him to take a break from practice; he never had a real childhood, or any experience of having real friends. His father was also really hard towards Michael and his siblings and was on many occasions abusive towards them, which is also known as another form of bullying.
Education:
Michael hardly spent a lot of time going to a regular school, as he was always tutored at home. Although he does have the vague memories of when he did go to school, also how he was the teachers’ favourite student, this was the only place he loved because people did not love his stories because of his name, but because of the talent he had in art and English. Jackson has always loved singing and dancing but more than that he loved to paint and write short stories which he would read out to everyone in class, and always experience a room full of applauds.
Income, Impact of Low Income and Employment Status:
Michael has never had a normal childhood; he was pushed by his father at the age of five to join his brothers in the Jackson 5, as the groups lead singer. Michael was forced in to the socio-economic life factors, of employment status and income and spent most his time performing in bars and local areas with his siblings. At such a young age, Michael had started signing record deals with companies such as Motown and Epic Records alongside his brothers, as well as going on tour across countries performing to a variety of audiences.
Culture, Religion and Beliefs:
Although Michael was deprived from spending most of his childhood doing

Without a doubt, he was smart and loyal to his friends. But the most important trait that characterized Michael was how he was a responsible and parental figure to his little brother, Bug. As the author of the article The Foundation of a Free Society, which criticized the system, Tom Waldron says, “Students couldn’t stay after school, (…) they had to pick up younger siblings and watch over them. Like The Wire’s Michael Lee, they were already parents themselves” (Waldron 3). Michael had to mature fast and make decisions that would benefit him and his brother, who was his major concern. This situation was one of the main factors that drove him to change his escape path to the “slave boat”, the gang’s life. The pushing factor that threw him into Marlo’s hands was once his stepfather, who molested him at an early age, reappears in the story. For instance, in episode eight, there is a drastic change in Michael’s personality, he is afraid of what can happen now that this man is back into his life. He couldn’t count on his mother because she was submerged in her drug addiction, the system operations were not trustable, and the psychological damage provoked by the person who was supposed to “protect” him was too devastating to let it…

When it comes to the life cycle there are stages individuals will pass through in their entire life cycle. When it comes to self-determination it starts from birth to about 18months old. During these first 18 months the child is developing optimism, trust, confidence, and security by their mother and father if they are properly cared for by them. If by change there is no trust from the parents to the child they could grow into insecurity, unimportance, and most likely be wary of trust in themselves and in the world. Later in life if the individuals were properly cared for he or she will be able to make things happen in their lives for themselves. This all comes with feeling confidence and being able to trust and make their own decision in their lives. Individuals learn how to be self-determination in early elementary by learning how to make their own choices, promote early problem solving skills by thinking aloud as they address simple problems.…

Understanding Jackson’s living environment is essential to understanding his developmental niches and needs. Super and Harkness’s (in Gardiner & Kosmitzki, 2010) developmental niche model asserts that the human developmental process is influenced by the individual’s unique environment, which shaped through integration and interaction among the person’s physical and social settings, culture, and caretakers. Therefore, having discussions about his family’s ethnocultural, reginal, educational, and socioeconomic background will be essential. Through such reflection on his environment, we will be able to get a sense of his individual as well as his family’s values, which is most likely a source of conflict among them.…
