Hawaiian Elephant Endangerment

Endangered species are those that are approaching the inability to reproduce or maintain a sufficient steady state population. They are approaching a bottle neck that without involvement, nature will eliminate their existence on earth. Although humans seem to interfere and even initiate this decline of animal population, we ourselves are a product of nature, and if allowing extinction benefits the overall wellbeing of our species, then it is our natural obligation to allow such extinction to take place.
Mosquitos are the largest human killers in the world. They are not only efficient, blood sucking organisms, but also the most efficient disease carrying organism. The Pacific vampire mosquito is indigenous to several islands in the Pacific Ocean. They are most known for their presence on the Hawaiian Islands. Due to the large tourist presence on the islands, and the increasing pressure of unhappy tourists these pests are literally being poised to extinction. They are known to carry Malaria, and yellow fever and infect thousands of tourists yearly. Should these creatures be spared? After all their endangerment is a direct cause of human involvement. Although I believe that extinction is not necessarily the answer, continued involvement is needed. We as humans are a
Animals like the South African Elephant have been hunted to endangerment in pursuit of their ivory. What would happen to the environment if they were eliminated? Although true, affecting one member of an ecosystem is known to have drastic effects on the wellbeing of all members of the ecosystem, it is our obligation as a species to maintain the wellbeing of our own species first.
In conclusion, although involvement to save endangered animals in sometimes necessary, its necessity is hinged on whether it affects the human species directly, and or will negatively affect the longevity of us as a species
