Character Analysis#2
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, every character has different personality. J. K. Rowling uses both direct and indirect characterization to let them be vivid. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter is characterized as noble and brave in order to let readers know he has power to against Voldemort.

Harry as the protagonist in this book, and he is brave. When Dumbledore and Harry discuss about the Horcrux, Dumbledore says that "the only protection that can possibly work against the lure of power like Voldemort's! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay is a fantastic book in my opinion because, since it is in a script form, it is very easy to direct in your head. The great detail in the story that J.K. Rowling executes perfectly creates not only a good story, but a whole new world. The characters are very lovable and believable and dives deep into their emotions and feelings. However, one of my main problems with the book is that we don’t learn much about the characters. In the story, we are shown a small fraction of Newt’s early life, a glimpse of Tina’s past, and not much about Jacob other than his job and motivation. Although it doesn’t affect the story much, it would be preferable to learn more about them so that the readers…

“Harry and Ron jumped to their feet. They were half hoping for a reason to fight Malfoy.” I started reading this excerpt by J.K. Rowling and I thought just how brave Harry really was for standing up to a bully. Throughout the book, Harry is set to join the Gryffindor house against the rivals, Slytherin. Harry has to find out who is trying to steal the Sorcerer’s Stone and get the courage to stand up to bullies like the antagonist, Malfoy. As I read the book, I realized that you will willow away, suffering, until you stand up to the bullies in your life.…

Throughout the book, J.K. Rowling was making a point about bravery. She portrays bravery as facing your fears and proving that you are more that people say you are. Bravery is not the only thing Harry represents; he also represents unselfishness and leadership. Unselfishness and leadership are both represented by his actions and what he says. Even though he represents many strong traits, they all still add up to make Harry Potter a humble person in the books.…

In Harry Potter, the Sorcerer’s Stone movie many characters severed as foils to each other. A foil is one character that serves as a contrast to another. First, I will talk about Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. Once Draco introduced himself to Harry, Harry knew they would not get along because Draco acted like an entitled wizard and is an uncaring spirit. As the movie progressed, Draco continued to develop as a foil he went to the house of Slytherin, bullied Harry’s friends, and serves as an enemy to Harry. Harry not knowing he was a wizard makes him feel lesser and not as entitled as Draco. Also, Harry has a good spirit by protecting his friends, standing up for what is right, choosing the house of Gryffindor, and uses his bravery to be the…

Out of curiosity of how the ‘Harry Potter’ series, authored by J.K. Rowling, has achieved its immense level of success and why this may be, I decided to investigate how characterisation of the protagonist and antagonist created the theme of good versus evil in the novels. As main components, the use of stereotypes, mirror effects, thematic developments and extended allusions are analysed. The primary sources that were used were all seven ‘Harry Potter’ novels, as it was determined…

Results show that Harry is the most selfless character in the story, he was raised up in a terrible family where he was treated unfairly “Dudley’s favourite punch-bag was Harry, but he couldn’t often catch him. Harry didn’t look it but he was very fast. Perhaps it had something to do with living in a dark cupboard, but Harry had always been small and skinny for his age. He looked even smaller and skinner than he really was because all he had to wear were old clothes of Dudley’s and Dudley was about four times bigger than he was.”(Rowling 20). Even though it was a nightmare for Harry to stay with his uncle’s family, Harry never blame or seek for a revenge against them with magic. In addition, Harry is so mature that its even hard to believe that he would risks his life to fight against Professor Quirrel to protect the wizard world at the age of eleven. He accepts his destiny that one day he shall face Voldemort, and he is willing to sacrificed himself for all the wizards…

From the beginning lines of Pride and Prejudice, marriage is expressed as a central theme of the novel. Austen even makes the bold statement that “it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a large fortune, must be in want of a wife” (1). Throughout the novel, the question arises whether marriage is meant for love or for wealth and social status. Although Austen presents both sides of this argument in the text, marrying for love is favored.…

Nowadays, Harry Potter series becomes of one of the most popular novels in Children’s a literature, which is also approved by the writer’ Union with a high reputation. Especially, throughout the novel, Harry and his friends break numerous rules in Hogwarts, but Rowling did a good balance between the importance of maintaining authority and the importance of rebelling against it. Although countless factors affect our assessment of the author’s ability to balance between the two sides. There are three conspicuous events in the novel which can prove this: Harry helped Neville to grabbed the Remembrall from Malfoy but was found his nature by Professor McGonagall, Harry and Ron saved Herminone form the troll instead of went back the accommodation but were award the points by Professor McGonagall and Harry, Ron, Herminone broke the school rules but saved the whole Hogwarts.…
