Harlen Coben's Article 'The Undercover Parent'
In Harlen Coben article The undercover parent (2008). I agree with Coben about the spyware. As a parent of a teenager I would take some precautionary measures in protecting my teenager from the dangers of the internet which may include having a conversation with my child and telling them the dangers of the internet.

Spyware isn't always a bad thing, like for example a girl got bullied online from all the rude comments and pictures and then she killed herself. Maybe if her parents had spyware or another way to make sure the child weren't getting bullied. Even though your child might not be bullied but is bullying someone you can help stop it.

The essay begins with Coben showing his initial apprehension towards the use of spyware stating, it’s an “invasion of privacy.” Coben mentions that his, as well as many other parents, hesitation may have started from the word: spyware.
