Hacking Persuasive Speech
First of all, the school has taught their students to take serious subjects too far. On paragraph two, it reads‘“I am looking for some good massacres early,” this year’s judge said as the competitions began the second week in May. “I have arranged at least one boyfriend-girlfriend killing that could be interesting.” Any type of killing is not something to be joked around with, especially in a silly game at school. Also on paragraph one, it says, “This judge of makes a pie chart of death —the order of killing assignments…” The word ‘killing assignments’ would disturb any rational thinking person. This game is supposed to be fun to the students, and if killing assignments are part of the game, who knows what the students could do in real life? …show more content…
In paragraph five, it reads, “...the idea was to use a cell phone to call Cohen’s landline, posing as Cohen’s teammate Dominic, using Dominic’s caller I.D. The call had been engineered from a remote computer by a squad member with prodigious hacking skills.” Right off the bat, hacking is an illegal act. It is classified as a misdemeanor, but that is still one year or less in jail that could be used for education. Also, the squad member stole Dominic’s caller I.D., which could be classified as identity theft because they got in his information, also known as his caller I.D. to talk to Cohen. However, learning to hack could be beneficial if one is trying to master computer skills because they are necessary for many kinds of professional jobs. Even though computer skills are beneficial, learning how to hack is not necessary for any kinds of professional jobs and could get one into serious trouble. In paragraph nine, it says, “Willis Cohen was finally killed through no fault of his own. He woke up and, as usual, hopped a neighbor’s fence and exited through a neighbor’s house.” Yet again, one of the students did an illegal act, which was trespassing. One can be in jail for trespassing from six months to eight whole years. Eight years of one’s life that could be used for education, but instead used for the consequences of a game in high school. In conclusion, the violent game is very perilous because it encourages

I would not consider it an honor to be called a “muckraker” but I do think that it is important. I don’t think that it would be very honorable because you are trying to find out things that make people look bad. Then after you find something that could ruin the person’s life, it ends up all over the news and everyone knows about it. After that, the person or people are not going to like you because of what you did to them. That also makes you look bad as a person for doing that to people. Even though I don’t like muckrakers, I do think that what they do could be beneficial.…

Many high schools across the nation play an end-of-year game, dubbed Killer, where you emulate gang gunfights and ambushes, but with water guns. The explicit theme can’t be justified by the moments of teamwork during the game, because the idea of the game is just so violent. In the Killer, people crawl around their neighborhood, ready with water weaponry, prepared to defend against or perform ambushes. Although building strategic and complicated is stimulates the brain and is a fun challenge, the idea of it is still to ambush and eliminate a target, similar to killing a person. Because of the game’s competitive nature, some participants decided that hacking, stalking, and causing other nuisance, in order to gain a competitive edge, becomes…

She leads us on this journey by introducing us to a video game called “Doom”, and how its effects left a major impression on adults in the early 1990’s (p. 204). “Doom” is a first person shooter game that allows a player to act as the “killer”. The player’s point of view, while playing, is reflective of the actual vision that a “killer” may have as they attack their victims. Sternheimer suggests that this game, through exposure to the media and other adults, has created a disturbance that has demonized the game and those who play it. She refers to these people as “Folk Devils” (p. 204). With this impression left on many Americans it has become the only explanation to why school shootings and juvenile violence occurs.…

Role Playing games with simulated violence are perilous for kids. At St. Ann’s private school in New York, they have a game called killer. A simulated killing game, where they use water guns to try to “kill” other students who are participating in killer. Although killer may be fun for a lot of the kids it definitely has some risk for the student. For example student are breaking the law, being reckless to others, and acting like fake killing someone is worth celebrating just so they can win the game.…

Do you know a problematic boy? Do you think that the best for him is to go to a detention center, so he can be reformed and released to society as a good person? There is crime around us, and teenagers sometimes take place in perpetrating them, and as any person who commits a crime, they receive a punishment proportional to their offences and are sent to a detention center as an attempt to reform and lead them to a right path. However, the methods applied aren’t working as they are supposed to, there, teenagers are mistreated and abused, to be released not as a new and straight person, but being just like they were before, with traumas, or being even worse, because of that we should try other methods that really work.…
