Ha Dynamic Character

How Ha Changed and improved in her new life In the novel Inside out and back again, By Thanhha Lai, Ha’s life turns upside down and she goes on a dangerous journey to start a new life. As she travels, she goes through many experiences that change her. Ha is a dynamic character because throughout the story she matures and becomes more teachable. One way Ha becomes a more dynamic character is she becomes more willing to learn and is not as stubborn. What this means is that she is more teachable and easy to work with. In the poem “First Rule” Ha has arrived in Alabama and is learning the new language. She becomes more willing to learn because even though this is hard for her, but she pushes through and continues to learn. In the poem “But not Bad” Ha is given a gift of dried papaya. She is upset because it doesn’t taste the same, but later the papaya is given at dinner in a different way and she decides it might not be that bad. This is an example because she is learning to not be as stubborn and judge
When Ha and her family are on the ship traveling to their new home, they hear that their country no longer exists because of the war. After hearing the news Ha and her brother both put one of their favorite things in a cloth that is dropped into the ocean. This represents that she is moving on from her life is Saigon and is maturing. When Ha moves to Alabama and starts attending school, she gets picked on by the other kids (Lai 146). When the kids were teasing her she could have fought back, but instead she walked away. When the new year comes and Ha’s family is praying for good things and Ha says, “I think and think then I close my eyes again. This year I hope I truly learn to fly-kick, not to kick anyone so much as to fly.” What this means is that when Ha was getting picked on she wanted to know how to defend herself, but now as she’s grown up, she wants to become
