Gun violence in the past is different from gun violence in the new millennium. Gun violence in the past was mostly between the civilians not liking the law. There are events such as the Civil Rights Movement, the shooting of presidents Lincoln and Kennedy, and more. Gun violence in the civil rights movements was due to people not accepting change in the way African Americans are being treated. At this time African Americans were known to be slaves or property. So many people despised them so much that they didn’t want to serve them any food. As for the shooting of presidents many people disagreed of Lincoln’s support of banning slavery.
