Gun Ownership

The debate almost always assumes responsible ownership when in reality it has been found that more than half of all legally purchased guns were stored unlocked and at least 16% were stored unlocked and even loaded. Other studies have also claimed that having a gun increases the risk of suicide and/or homicide inside the home during family arguments. Gun control can even raise the crime on citizens. Gun control may be able to regulate the wrong use of these weapons, but it also causes those responsible to not be able to have guns when needed to protect themselves.
