Gun Control
A shooter takes down one person, then another, and eventually takes down a whole crowd of people. Is this a video game or real life? In today’s society it is hard to even tell. If the government does not take control now, large shootings will be a normal event in the United States. To be able to acquire a gun should be a fairly difficult task. With the gun laws are now, acquiring a gun is pretty much as easy as walking in and out of the store. Think about it, if somebody can walk into a gun shop, and walk out in twenty minutes or less with a pistol, how safe is that? Background checks need to be required and highly detailed so that people who are mentally unstable can not obtain guns. When this happens, massive shootings can occur throughout the country because when these people get angry, they do some irrational things. Assault rifles and guns with large magazines also need to be banned. There is absolutely no reason to have these types of weapons available to the public. Guns with a high rate of fire are unnecessary to own because they serve no purpose. Having access to these weapons makes it easier for school shootings and other massacres to occur. This is because of the amount of bullets that can be fired at a time without reloading. A license to carry a concealed weapon should be encouraged to people with a clear history and who are mentally stable. If more stable people have a license to carry, there is a higher chance of a shooting being prevented. For instance, if an intruder comes into a school with a weapon, and a teacher has a gun, they can potentially stop the person from causing harm to others. If this happened, it could save many lives and protect people from injury. There are many different types of guns that you can possibly obtain.
