Gun Control Good Or Bad Essay
What do you think about gun control are you against or for it? I believe that guns are good unless you are using it for bad things. People that use guns for bad should have no guns. People that use guns to protect they should keep there guns.

The issue about gun control is some people use there guns for bad reasons. Some people use it to harm people which it ruins it for other people that are using there guns for good purposes. You can say guns are important because they can protect you from animals like bears, lion, and etc. or bad people like abusers, burgalers, and etc.

Gun control laws infringe upon the right to self-defense and deny people a sense of safety. Gun control laws will not prevent criminals from obtaining guns or breaking laws. More gun control is unnecessary because relatively few people are killed by guns. Gun control laws and lower gun ownership rates do not prevent suicides.(http://gun-control.procon.org/)

This supports my claim because it shows both sides of view. It tells us how gun control can save life's like people that are trying to kill themselves. It also tells us how guns don't help us because people keep themselves from ending there life's.

Are you for or against gun control? For me I agree with gun control because it can help people stay safe. Guns can protect you if you are using it in the proper way. For example you can protect your self from animals, burgalers, and etc. so I believe that guns are good for certain people that uses there guns for good. But the bad people we need to take guns away for them. So are you for or against gun control? What do you

Gun control laws give too much power to the government and may result in government tyranny and the government taking away all guns from citizens. Many people consider that gun control laws can give too much power to the government over the people. That is why our Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment. Guns Do Not Kill People; People Kill People Gun control is a very large problem going on in the United States today. All guns have the potential to be dangerous and should be used with precautions, as well as the right safety regulations. Guns can be hazardous and tragic accidents can happen, like the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut, but only if they are in the hands of the wrong person. Guns are not only used every day for protection, such as law enforcement like the military and the police, but guns are also used for recreational activities such as hunting. The second amendment states that we have the right to bear arms, which also means we have the right to own a gun to protect ourselves and our families not only from criminals, but also from the government. So therefore the prohibition of guns or stricter laws on gun control is unconstitutional and not morally correct. I believe gun control in the United States should not necessarily be eliminated, but reduced greatly.…

Before addressing the viewpoints and the positive and negative effects, understanding what gun control is should be the first step. According to Dictionary.com, Gun Control is, "An effort to fight violent crime by strengthening laws on the ownership of firearms.” Guns are more likely to result in a death, than a knife or other weapons and people own them for the protection of items, hunting, or other reasons (Zimring). While it may be an effort to stop murders and injuries, it will not stop people from…

First the perspective from gun Philosopher David Hume once said that “Reason is the slave of passion”. In other words, anti-gun control advocates and gun control advocates allow their passion on the issue overshadow the logical and rational understanding on how to come to resolution. Statistics and facts are included in their arguments but their feelings guide them to their respective sides. In addition, most gun control debates have knowledgeable representors but they often come their conclusion due their passionate emotions on the issue. In all honesty, neither one is absolutely correct however, they do have strong elements of truth about gun control. It is unrealistic to fathom having a nation without guns. Americans are privileged to buy guns to defend their livelihood which is a fundamental right. Conversely, background checks, educational training, and testing to determine if a person is qualified to handle firearms should be required since violent criminals and psychopathic criminals are able to obtain guns from street dealers or pawn shops without the need for verification. It is a strange dichotomy that any deranged person can buy a gun with minimal repercussions since they usually commit suicide or a detained, but gun owners who are law abiding citizens have to suffer from the idea that their gun rights are at risk.…

Gun control is one of the most debatable topics in present day. Gun control refers to laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms. These firearms include handguns, machine guns, rifles etc. People use these weapons for multiple reasons. Some use it for sport, for example: hunting or practicing at the gun range. Others buy it for protection while others use it for violence. Having a firearm requires responsibility. The person that wields a gun is responsible for his safety or others. They are also responsible for using a weapon against someone. According to procon.org, ''The United States has 88.8 guns per 100 people, or about 270,000,000 guns, which is the highest total and…

For the last couple of years, gun control has continued to be a huge controversial debate in Congress. This argument over whether gun control laws should be strict is nothing new to the world of politics. The ideas of gun control consist of laws that either keep away firearms from people, or allow one to keep guns for personal protection. They also control who the guns are being sold to and who can own them. In America, each state government has passed many gun control laws. Many people think that gun control is right because they think keeping people away from guns will reduce the amount of deaths each year. They also think that guns cause many of the deaths that had been committed each year. Whenever people hear the word gun, the thoughts…

Gun Control Creates A Safe World Gun control is a controversial and divisive issue in our routine life, not only in the United States, but also all over the world. Basically, gun control refers to governmental efforts to limit or restrict the production, sale, possession and use of guns by private citizens. Some people believe that it is necessary that federal and state laws allow citizens to purchase and possess guns, or even actively require adult citizens to maintain weapons in their house, and periodically to train in their use. However, others think gun control is indispensable in our society because gunshots are the main cause of death in the United States. As for me, I prefer to support the second view because guns are lethal and the fewer people that have them the better. The only function of a gun is to kill. The more instruments of death are removed from our society, the safer we will be. With my research, I found a lot of striking data about guns menacing people’s lives. There should be gun control in the United States because guns are a menace to people’s lives.…

Alex Thammavongsa GE 217 11/26/12 Final Paper: Argument Against Gun Control The argument on firearm regulation has been a heated discussion for many years. On one side of the debate, we have people in favor placing restrictions on guns, while, on the opposite end of the spectrum, we have people fighting the regulation of guns. People in favor gun restrictions believe gun control can reduce crime ,while, the people against gun control believe having the right to bear arms is an effective crime deterrent. I believe that every law abiding citizen should be able to carry a gun and defend themselves against people who intend to harm them.Gun control laws are simply ineffective and they have an adverse effect on crime. Instead of reducing crime, gun control laws just simply take guns out the hands of good people and puts the guns into the hands of the bad guys.…

Gun control laws can reduce violence and crime. In the United States, 67% of crimes in 2010 were committed with firearms (Rogers, 2007). This means that majority of crimes committed in America had guns and other firearms involved. If firearms are prohibited in the state, then in theory, crime rates will go down by 67%. Guns have the ability to take someone’s life. Having that said, disallowing the use of guns can not only decrease crime rates, but lower causalities as well.…

The Libertarian’s View on Gun Control The debate over the restrictions of gun control is centered on the Second Amendment to the Constitution, which gives people the right to bear arms. Gun control supporters believe that this explicit right does not extend to ownership of military-style firearms. For example, groups like the National Rifle Association argue that gun control infringes on the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. Gun control is an on-going debate because each year more people are killed by the use of guns. However, guns are not the result in the number of homicides each year, the problems rests with the irresponsible gun users. Gun Control would do nothing but harm America because guns offer protection and security…

Anti Gun Control Should the mere fact that criminals committing crimes with the use of guns infringe the national right of the innocent to possess guns. This is a question that arouses everywhere and no matter which way it is viewed the controversy will always go on. "A gun is a mere tool that can be used for good or evil. Our country is based on the belief that man is good until he or she is proven to be otherwise."(Harris p.2) This means that only a few people are committing crimes with uses of guns and why completely remove them from society. Therefore, we should strenuously protect the rights of free men and likewise prosecute and punish the criminals who abuse the rights of others. The problem with gun violence is associated with the child's atmosphere. Moreover, we need to educate young children about responsibly handling guns and educate them to respect life and the life's of others. The movement of gun control exploits every celebrated act violence and offsetting the hundreds of thousands of cases in which guns are used as defensive weapons to save live and property of the innocent. Moreover, guns do more good that bad. This issue completely contradicts the Second Amendment which states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the rights of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."…
