Guidelines for the final project in the 4th semester of the AP Degree Programme in Marketing Management:

1. Introduction
A final project concludes the AP Degree Programme and it is examined at the end of the 4th semester. The following is an introduction to the project including a description of the project, its purpose, contents and demands for formalities.

2. Purpose
Through the final project the student should develop his/her abilities to analyse and evaluate complex business problems, enabling him/her to develop well-founded strategies and plans of action in production and service companies nationally and internationally. The project should normally be done in cooperation with the placement company and field research should be carried out in connection with the project.

3. Contents
The final project must be based on central problems taught in the subjects of the programme and it must train the student’s ability to combine knowledge from the various subjects. The final project can e.g. include a preparation of a marketing plan, communication plan or a business plan. The student must prepare his/her project based on information gathered in Denmark and/or abroad. The general rule is that in connection with national market research a more detailed information gathering is expected than in connection with international market research. The project must substantiate that the student is able to gather, process, analyse and evaluate information and can combine this with the theories and methods taught in the programme subjects. The project report must include the following elements:

introduction (background introduction, purpose, problem formulation, delimitation, methodology including quality assesment and source criticism)

in the order mentioned.
Please read the handed out “Guidelines for Preparing Project Reports” for further information about the content and structure of the report.
The final project can be written individually or in groups of up to three students. If two or three students write the project report together, it is required that the author of each part/chapter of the report can be identified. This means that the student’s initials must be written after each part/chapter in the table of contents.

4. Formulation of the topic of the final project and supervision during the project course. The problem formulation of the final project is formulated by the student in concert with the final supervisor and if possible with a company in the beginning of the 4th semester. The following deadlines apply for the final project:

The student must hand in a paper with subject to his/her supervisor which briefly describes the contents of the final project and for whom the project is written no later than Monday February 16th, 2015.

The student must hand in a project description to the supervisor no later than Monday, March 2nd, 2015. It is recommended that the student ask his/her supervisor to approve the project description before the student starts writing the project.

The students are encouraged to contact their supervisor on a regular basis during the project course. The supervisor and the student individually agree on the specifics of their cooperation. The supervisor will/must supervise/counsel, however it is the student who writes the report and thus the student is solely responsible for it.

Remember that the supervising during the project work will clarify any uncertainties, however it is up to the student to make...
