Guanajuato Research Paper

In 1997, after I graduated from the University of Baja California, in Tijuana, Mexico, and started my first job, I decided to take my first trip with my best friends. We were undecided on which city we were going to visit. After a little research we found the city of Guanajuato. We picked this city because it has a lot of places to visit and is a colonial city. However, the thing that lead me decide is that this city remind me of the story of Romeo and Juliet. These tunnels were created many years ago because of the mines. Guanajuato is famous for it’s mines of gold, silver and copper. We took a tour around the first gold mine. It was all dark, with only a few small lights to illuminate the way where we were walking. The little boy, who was our tour guide, was explaining how the gold was found. I remember that he told a story about ghosts. He said that because many mine workers died while working, their souls were all around the mine looking for gold pretending like they were still working. I got scared when he told the story and I could not be there anymore. I wanted to get out of the mine but we were only half way so I had to wait to get to the exit. As he was telling more stories, I was really nervous to find a ghost. When we finally ended the tour, I was so happy that I could not pay attention to what the tour guide was saying at the end of his story. Later one of my friends told me that the story the guide was telling was all a lie. He said that to make it more interesting they were told to do that in order to get people scared during the tour. I think they did a good job with me since I really got scared. In addition, I was glad that the story was never
