Grey's Anatomy Season 1 Episode 2
TV Show Critique #1: Grey’s Anatomy Season 1 Episode 2 The nine characters who appear as series regulars in the first season all work in the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital. Five of the characters are interns: Meredith Grey portrayed by Ellen Pompeo, who is in a romantic relationship with her attending Derek Shepherd. Cristina Yang is portrayed by Sandra Oh, an extremely competitive intern. Izzie Stevens is portrayed by Katherine Heigl, an ex model who struggles to be recognized as a doctor. Alex Karev is portrayed by Justin Chambers, an arrogant intern who initially irritates his colleagues. Last is George O'Malley portrayed by T.R. Knight, an insecure intern with a lack of confidence. The interns are mentored by their resident Miranda Bailey portrayed by Chandra Wilson, a disciplined woman. The surgical program is led by the Chief of Surgery Dr. Richard Webber portrayed by James Pickens Jr.. In his employ are Preston Burke and Derek Shepherd from New York portrayed by Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey respectively. I would say that the characters on this TV show are well described and developed. Also the story line was refreshing because it showed similar occurrences to those of a real hospital. The story development starts off with a smaller issue of Meredith trying to find a roommate. The drama soon begins to build as she tries to keep a business relationship with a doctor at the hospital. She is also anxious to be in the room and assist with a surgery. she must also deal with the horrific souvenir of a patient's brutal rape. And her visit to the nursery leads to a conflict with a pediatric intern. Meanwhile, Cristina and Alex develop their bedside manners, in a manner of speaking; George has a depressing day overseeing codes; Izzie runs into a language barrier with one of her patients; and Burke finds out why Webber was preferred for a leadership position over him.
The first season's ratings were consistently high, ranking first in its timeslot and

In the first few pages I found myself so caught up with the character development that I quickly lost sight of the big picture. I mean how could I be expected to believe that any one person could accurately describe an entire management team with such accuracy. Richard Thompkins’ descriptions and predictions were almost humorous. His intuition into his co-workers was uncanny. From their personal relationships to the weaknesses in one fail swoop. I wanted to meet Richard myself. As the story developed I later appreciated the lack of filler material as the characters were introduced and it also made for a quick refresher when I was trying to predict who was going to be effected next by Brent’s plans.…

having a gun in one's house is a controversial topic for many people, whether or not one would think they would need or want one in their house. The episode of Blackish named "Rock Paper Scissors Gun" was successfully able to explain both the primary benefits and their contrasting arguments applying Pathos, Logos, and the Ethos behind both sides of the spectrum of owning a…

To be completely honest, I would have to say that majority of the acting was very mediocre. I know it wasn’t supposed to be like something off of Broadway but I expected a lot more, and I felt like only a couple of actors came through with that. The acting was not terrible, but it wasn’t spectacular either. I felt like some characters were not putting their all into their characters. I also felt like some people should not have been casted into the roles they had received. Many times a background character would outshine a main character during the performance. Pertaining to the acting, I think that the fact that it was a musical added more stress to the actors which consequently could have placed a strain on their acting abilities. This is because they were most likely more concerned with their vocals. Something I did like in their acting was the fact that they used little children, I found that very adorable.…

Grey’s Anatomy, a medical drama that has been on air for the past 11 years, is my all-time favorite show. Not only is the plot of the series extremely riveting and tear-jerking, but the characters are all able to relate to an aspect of your life even through your most difficult hardships, especially the protagonist, Meredith Grey. Meredith Grey, is known for her well-roundedness not due to her ability as a surgeon (as she is the head of General Surgery), but because of her willingness to aid others when they’re in times of trouble. This is especially true when it comes to her best friends; Christina Yang, Isabella Stevens, Alex Karev, and George O’Malley; who struggle through deaths, countless failed relationships, and illnesses throughout…

The actress who played Claire portrayed the character well. From the beginning to the end she really captured the characters and her emotions. When she first entered on stage I was confused of what was going as she was walking aimlessly across the stage but later realized that was the whole point. She wanted the audience to believe she was confused and lost; and she did. I notice her break the fourth wall every now and then as she looked into the audience. I suppose it was part of the scrip to interact with the audience because she mostly did it when she was on the side doing random things with the people in tight pants. Her entrances where perfect every time, even though the scenes where being switched off between her and Richard in the car, she never seen to loose focus. You could clearly see every expression on her face which made it more realistic to the audience.…

The idea of Grace helping the boys is shown and also it explains the fact that her early life determines how she interacts with the troubled boys. I also agree that the movie acts as a good educational tool by using these experiences to show how people can handle certain situations. You also that caregivers provide an emotional role in peoples lives. In the review it also mentions that emotions are hard to understand but the movie does a good job of making the audience experience the emotions of the characters. The facility is good because Grace helped the young people and experienced emotions of their lives together. The relationships between the teens also were changed throughout the…

The show was made popular by how the producers could take the idea of a post apocalyptic world and make it seem so real. The show starts off a few days before the outbreak begins then cuts to a few days after the disease has taken hold of the country and devastated the population creating what the survivors call “walkers.” this gives few details of who the characters are and how the dead reanimating disease was created then later released to devastate the world’s population. As the series progresses viewers see how the outbreak begins to change the thoughts and actions of the people that survive and how they manage to survive where others have not. The show follows them day by day and gives the audience a view into the lives of the characters and how the outbreak has affected their lives. They were able to take the idea of a world full of zombies and turn the idea up a notch. In every episode that has been released so far, the writers and producers have successfully made each episode give enough information and action to keep the audience glued to the screen while making sure they will come back the following week for the next episode.…

The character’s I enjoyed watching the most were the members of the group who were left behind from Vietnam, John and Axel. I liked the simplistic innocence that they possessed. Axel’s reply to everything was simple and straight to the point, “Fuckin’ A!” Even if he didn’t understand all of the emotions welling up between his comrades, he would still give the same answer. John, the bar owner was the necessary jolly spirit of the group. His entire purpose was to observe the emotions and drama between his friends and to do everything in his power to cheer them up. In my opinion, he was trying harder to hold the group together, than any other character. After the wedding, and before Mike, Nick, and Stevie left for Vietnam, where did everyone gather? After Nick’s funeral, where did everyone meet? Who was trying so hard to comfort everyone with food, beer, and coffee? Who broke down the hardest, when he realized that everyone he cared about had been destroyed by the events in Vietnam, and that no one would ever be the same?…

I didn't get into the series until I happened to catch a little bit of it on TNT one morning. That was in the beginning when Prue was still alive. I thought the play was very good, even with it’s minor flaws. The play was about a girl named “Star”, which she came up by herself, her original name “Stella Grubner”. Star had cystic fibrosis, a medical condition where mucus builds up in the lungs. She just had gotten back to heart house, and wasn’t so keen on it. Finally, a new patient arrives, Courtney, who becomes her new roommate.…
