Grease: Music Analysis

My first musical review I did was over the movie “Grease.” Grease the movie is based in the time period of the late 50s early 60s. The way you can tell mostly what time period is the way they dress, and then with Sandy’s manners towards everyone. She is so nice to everyone she comes in contact with. Then there is Rizzo was definitely the portrait the bad girl image that you always hear about from back in the day. Of course there was the different group of friends they had “The Pink Ladies” and the “T-Birds.” Danny and Sandy meet on the beach during the summer and they fell in love, but she was suppose to go back home to Australia. Well then her parents decided not to move after all so she was attend Rydell High. Frenchy and her became instant
So the coach decided to try long distance running. Which worked until he was not paying attention where he was going and tripped over the hurdle. Then there was the big race between the “T-birds” and the “Scorpions” the “T-Birds” won the races and they was races for pink slips, which means ownership papers. So she decided by the end that she was the one that had to changed. So Frenchy helped her become the women that Danny was looking for at the school end of the year fair. The style of music that was performed was a romantic comedy. I love the plot of the story it is just a fun loving movie that I feel everyone should share with their children. I personally grew up watching this beloved musical. It makes you feel like that someone will change for the right reasons. In the movie you can definitely tell that they put their feelings into song. Like when she is sitting by the poolside outside of Frenchy’s house, she sings about being all depressed because Danny was not the man that she had seen at the beach that summer. Music has a huge roll in the mood of the movie there is from happy times of being together, to being sad that they do not have each other
