Graphic Design Personal Statement
I originally entered art school with the intention of becoming a painter. I was drawn to the raw nature of expressing whatever I felt in any way and by any rules I wanted to follow. Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…

Firstly, I cultivated a hobby of graphic designing at such a young age of twelve. From that point where I have discovered a new passion that I was really good at, I told my young self that I want to be a graphic designer when I grow up. After spending many hours out of my day practicing, I skills became so superb that I was inducted into the nationally recognized Searider Productions as a freshman in high school. Through this program I was offered numerous great opportunities to better my skills and get myself out there. As a matter of fact, Searider Productions is what lead me to my internship for Relativity Media in Beverly Hills, California.
