Graduation Speech: Disrespect From Folsom's Career Council Meeting
Jennifer Lane As I've said before; you can attend all the meetings you want but nothing will change. I sit in that room and get an utter lack of disrespect from Folsom's career council members all because I want to be involved and I have a difference of opinion. I'll gladly continue to watch the meetings at home (after work) and take action outside the chambers in ways that reach for more folks than the meetings do. Your absolutely right, you are a lone wolf in the those commission meetings. These decisions are planned and decided well before they get to you. They use you as political fodder; just as they do to anyone who doesn't see it there way. We have to remove the council to end the outside influences effecting this city. I am leading

The text of David McCullough Jr’s high school graduation speech was very agreeable. Most individuals address graduating as a finish line, once it’s reached everything is just done, but David views graduating as a beginning to life. He compares a diploma to a spouse by reciting some of the traditional marriage vows with his own input. If someone can not commit thirteen years of their life for school, how can they expect to commit their whole life to another human being?…

    Pros And Cons Of Folsom

Folsom's an AMAZING city, but we are not on course to remain the city we all love, a city truly “Distinct by Nature.” Folsom’s in jeopardy of losing the defining characteristics making it a unique, beautiful place to live. Unbeknownst to many, outside influences have crept into Folsom politics, affecting development decisions. These influences are funding & promoting a political in-crowd that needs to be broken up. I will energize & reboot Folsom’s leadership & processes, ending the status quo. It's time to shake it up, time for term-limits, and time for transparency & accountably! My passion for Folsom is one of the many reasons I'm running. Fighting to ensure the beauty of Folsom is enjoyed for generations to come. I’m standing up to out of touch politicians like councilman Jeff Starsky so they don't turn Folsom into another Bay area city and use their elected position for personal…

I come from Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the most up and coming cities in America. My town is a beautiful, flourishing area with a lot to offer to a variety of people. With such diversification, we have not integrated our neighborhoods, schools, or the social scene nearly enough. Communities can become racially prevalent leading to separations in culture and heritage. I can see this in the high schools throughout the area during our football games or competitions which is depriving to everyone involved. Leaving people unaware of their surroundings creates a bubble of ignorance. Mallard creek provides so much culture as it is is zoned for so many areas, however, other schools are not provided the opportunity I am. As the severance continues,…

Well, it’s a place where all of your fantasies can come true. You can come to this country with just the clothes on your back and hope in your heart. Then after settling here you will have a closet full of clothes, a big house to live in, and a bountiful supply of money. You’ll be living the American Dream. You can be and say whatever you want in America. That’s why it’s called ‘’the land of the free, and the home of the brave’’ right? Wrong. If you come to America with just the clothes on your back, we will accuse and prosecute you for being an ‘’illegal alien’’, arrest you, take the only items item you have to your name (your clothing), redress you in a prison uniform, destroying any bit of hope you had in the process. Folks come to America with the idea of a better opportunity in life, but in reality, you’re worse off living here.…

Billy Joel is a very well known musician who is respected and acknowledged all around the world. I think he was an appropriate speaker for a college graduation. He used one question at the beginning of the speech that caught the audience's curiosity, "Why do musicians give so much time to charitable causes?" He then branched out from there to discuss more important issues. This question helped him create an invitational environment. I think asking a question also helped him show a sense of organization and importance to the issue of why he was there.…

I’m shocked to see how far the political in-crowd will go to intimidate challengers running for City Council. Following the 2014 elections, the Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee “BizPAC” & associates filed two identical FPPC (Fair Political Practices Commission) violations against both Jennifer Lane and myself. With statements like “Mr. Gaylord’s a seasoned politician” and “Mr. Gaylord demonstrated complete disregard for the law.” It’s a clear example of how special interest groups like BizPAC are high-jacking Folsom’s political process, and are determined to keep the "old guard" in!…

Imagine… you are getting all dressed up for that big day. You get anxious and scared because it’s the graduation for eighth grade. You get all dressed up and put on your gown and cap. Then you arrive at the school. You sit in the assigned seat and watch the children before you get up and shake hands. You feel your hands get clammy as you wait. You wait till you hear your name and realize that it’s your time to shine. You stand up and hear the creaking of the harwood on your shoes. Then you feel your hands and wipe them down, but when you get up there you shine like a supernova. Everyone's eyes are on you. You realize that it’s your time to show who you are and time to reflect on your legacy here. A legacy is what you leave behind for people…
