graduation party
I will be having a graduation party when I graduate from south university and this party means a lot to me, it represents an accomplishment in my life I worked hard for. There is three places I got in mind to have the party at , but not really sure which one yet. One place I was thinking about having it at was the Granby Theater here in Norfolk,VA. The reason I choose this place is because of how big it is and nice the place and its plush and opulent interior, state-of-the-art light and sound systems. It also has a new Lounge concept, which offers a separate intimate setting with full bar, open kitchen, and patio that is perfect for smaller events. For smaller celebrations, you can reserve one of the beautiful semi-private balconies located on 5 different levels offering panoramic views of the venue. These include two suites with private dance floors and the Presidential Suite, located front and center. (granbytheater.com) If I choose this place there is already a live DJ there for the music, I will just set with him the type of music I would like. Another place I was thinking about was just going to The Marriot at Waterside has spacious rooms they rent out and using it to have my party. I can do this and that way I can decorate it the way I want and in the colors I want. I plan on my decorations to be the color of silver mainly and reserving a room and my own open bar. I choose this place, because of the spacious rooms they have and because of the nice atmosphere it has. I love the decore and the people there and it is very elegant and such a suitable place for a graduation party, people that are not able to go home and drive because they have had to much can just get a room and stay there. The music I will have here will be picked by me but I will hire my own private DJ, which will be a close friend of mine. (marriot.com) The final place I have picked to possibly have my party at is to find a nice place that and either red or blue, I want to have

He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…

In the story “Graduation”, a young black girl feels anticipated and honored with her graduation day. However, on her graduation day, she feels frustrated and shadowy because Mr. Donleavy, a white man, delivers a speech to the graduating class of 1940. At first, Angelou is quite excited because she is proud of her academic achievements; besides that, she is also about to make a speech in front of many students. In addition, her mother also gives her a fancy dress with an abundance of embroideries and frills. Furthermore, many people also praise her of her wisdom. When Mr. Donleavy makes his speech, Angelou feels disappointed and bitter because his speech includes too much racism. In the uninspired speech, he says a little improvement will be done in black school, while a lot advanced equipment is offered in Central School (a white school). He also mentioned that all the black should pursue is those jobs at the bottom of the society such as maids and farmers.…

In middle school I remember being told that I will be receiving an award at our ceremony so I had to show up to the ceremony. I did show up and I remember being told to sit down in the front row. I did not think anything of it and was just there to be there. Then I heard them describe an award meant for the top student in that grade level and then they mentioned my name. I was so excited and so proud to show this to my mom and make her proud of what I have earned. It says alot about how much hard work I put in to school and sometimes I do not even realize it. It tells people that school is a priority in my life and it will continue to be one for my future education. This is what started it all for me, it showed me that I should strive for the…

The first main step in planning the perfect party is calculating your budget. In reality the majority of people who throw a party do not know the total cost of the party until the following day. Knowing your budget will assist you in making decisions such as, who will cook your food; where the party will take place; and what type of entertainment you can afford. After settling on a budget, the next step is deciding who cooks your food. Depending on your budget, you can either decide to cook the food for the party yourself or have your party catered. Just remember that whichever option you decide is best supported by your budget, you still “keep the food simple” like Pulitzer suggest in Essentially Lilly: A Guide to Colorful Entertaining (97). After that, begin brainstorming a location. Your budget is extremely important when considering locations for your party. For example, if you wanted to rent a hall for your party but you do not have the funds for it; that will not be possible. When brainstorming locations, you want to choose at least three. Choosing three locations will allow you to keep your options open for other decisions you have to take into consideration further into the planning process. Then, decide on how to…

Mona Gardner ties together clever characterization, careful conflict, and a surprising resolution in “The Dinner Party” to illustrate the theme that everybody has a different amount or self-control, no mater what their gender is. The story takes place in India, where people are meeting and a small dinner party is taking place. A colonel then begins to say a sexist remark. An American guest watches as the hostess tenses slightly, and calls for a bowl of milk. The American realizes there is a cobra in the room, then asks the other guests to see how well they can test their self-control, until they see the cobra too and the women scream as it is leaving. The host tells the colonel how he was right, until the find out that the hostess knew because the cobra slithered across her foot. Thus proving how the colonel was wrong, and self-control varies from person to person which can be shown through their characterization, conflict, and resolution.…
