Grade 12 Year Research Paper
While students prepare for their grade 12 year they all must go through the process of choosing the correct courses required to get into the program of their desire. It is known that ENG4U is a necessity when it comes to course selection for those applying to university. For some individuals such as myself, this may be seen as an irritating task that we do not excel in and/or ‘need’ for the post secondary education plan we have in mind for ourselves. Even so, I do agree that grade 12 university English be a requirement for all university programs although it may not directly correlate to the program we wish to be a part of. There are numerous reasons as to why I concur that this course be essential for university application. To begin, for individuals who wish to proceed in a pathway that requires a substantial amount of writing/reading (ie. journalist, lawyer, author etc.), it is unambiguous why ENG4U is beneficial. However, some may argue that …show more content…
While being a perfect way to stay updated and communicate with friends and family, it has made users very ‘lazy’. We have developed a set of acronyms and shortcuts to make communication less tedious. Not only this but often times individuals forget the rules of grammar and spelling as it if not a formal way of communication. While an effective way to interact quickly with others, using ‘internet slang’ in a respectable work environment is highly inappropriate. With grade 12 university English being a requirement for university, it will ensure students have a well developed knowledge of the english language, appropriate for a job setting. It is impossible to escape English in the use of our everyday lives, weather it be through our jobs or just a chat with friends. With just some of the incredible benefits offered by this course, I strongly feel as though grade 12 university English be mandatory for those interested in applying for a university

There is nothing particularly noteworthy about Robert Shawn Keever. He is loud, boisterous, sarcastic, and a man of total depravity. To date he has been in no clubs or sports. He has yet to hold a job, nor do I believe he has the capability to even hold such a responsibility. If it were a matter of GPA, he’d fall short there too as it is 2.3. As a student he has no ambition for higher education and would rather join the military. His relationship with his peers and family can be described as abusive and unruly. In the past he has skipped school and deliberately started fights. Also, he has no faith. This being a nation founded by Jesus would make him an enemy of America and its values. His only saving grace is a profound love for most social studies and a strong sense of loyalty to those who have managed to make friends with him. Thus far he has taken every social studies class Smyrna High School has to offer.…

Language can be the main problem for all the international students even if the student is a native speaker of English, such as Americans, Australians and Indians. The reason is that students who come from an English-speaking country can be proficient in daily English, but it does not mean that they can skip this obstacle. For example, although most of the students have to get a high enough score in TOEFL or IELTS for being accepted by the school they want, they may still be unfamiliar with some terms for the subject they studied (Bamford, 2008). In other words, the ability of using English can be a barrier that every international student has to overcome. Otherwise, they would be trapped in their little safe zone and ended up as a person without sufficient confidence. So language can be the main problem for international students in the UK, but precisely it is definitely not the only issue. Because obviously, it is impossible to be a good international student by such a easy way.…
