God Removes and Sets Up Rulers
This is a controversial topic but here goes. The recent Presidential debates left many Americans disappointed in the performance of Obama and disillusioned about the potential performance and imagery of Romney. Both candidates exerted what they believed to satisfy the insatiable desire of Americans to receive the political edge of hearing the views of each candidate so they can incur an informed decision regarding the upcoming election. Many individuals have their position on their vote regardless of the debate results, and there are those individuals who do not cast a vote at all because they understand “God removes and sets up rulers” (Daniel 2:20-21) and no matter whom you vote for God will ordain the best candidate for America to victory. Each of us attempt to live our life to the fullest, some with regard for God’s laws and try to “walk in Jesus’ steps” and others well, they live under the premise “I have one life to live and I am going to live it to the fullest with no regard for God or others.” However, this latter premise has caused America to be in an age of great wickedness. Hence, the entire nation has to be in obedience to God’s law. Is it impossible for a whole nation to be in obedience to God’s law? No it is not. “The law of the Lord is perfect” (Psalm 19:7). We (Americans) have to understand that obeying brings happiness. No longer do we need to look for politicians professing to be watchmen of our lives to fulfill our needs. God gives qualifications for leadership, in government (Exodus 18:21) and church (1 Timothy 3:1-7) and expresses the nature of conduct for leaders. If any one of the current leaders exemplified qualities of fearing God and speaking truth would demonstrate an act of others to learn to do well.
