Goals of Healthcare Administration
Health care administration is a professional challenging environment with some of the most critical issues and problems in our society. Health care administration combines my knowledge and experience in business and health care. My accomplishments are a result of my ability to assess situations, generate a plan of action, and work the plan. Following is my plan of action for my career in health care:
Short-term career goals
· Attain a fellowship that will provide an excellent comprehensive education/training in health care management
· Develop and enhance a philosophy, code of ethics and set of values that will inspire dedication to excellence in the health care industry
· Observe executive leadership at the highest level of the organization and obtain a perspective of the organization as a whole
· Enhance and refine management and leadership skills
· Acquire marketable managerial and technical skills necessary to meet the demands and challenges facing tomorrow’s health care industry
· Develop an understanding of how to apply technical and theoretical academic knowledge to practical problems
· Demonstrate leadership/management potential in specific areas and at various levels of the organization
· Experience diversified line and/or staff responsibilities that will contribute to the organizations productivity
· Learn to take initiative in making management decisions, and work independently as well as on a team
· Seek ways to continuously improve processes and outcomes
· Build a mentor/networking relationship across the organization
· Become a permanent vibrate management team member of an outstanding health care organization (upon completion of fellowship)
Long-term career goals
· Mentor and develop fellows and/or less experience colleagues
· Lead innovative, effective, world-class health care organization(s) and enhance patient care excellence
· Make a substantial positive difference in the lives of others as an executive level health care
