Goals For College Research Paper
While I do have a lot of goals that I want to accomplish in my college career, I’m only going to only talk about one of them. And that goal is for me to build up my confidence. I’ve been an introvert all my life; although there’s nothing wrong with being quiet, there is something wrong with having thoughts like ‘your worthless’ or ‘nothing you ever do is good’. If someone compliments me saying I’m good at something, I would respond by saying something like ‘you’re just saying that to be nice’ or ‘no I’m not, I’m horrible’. And every time I would say that, someone would think I was just being humble. But the truth of the matter is that I actually believe that. It’s a little funny to think about how I developed this kind of personality; because

I I'm an Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging Learner (INTJ) that is very self-confidence in the things I do as a human on this earth. I do also understand some of my weaknesses due to my knowledge of self-confidence is great in a lot of areas but can harm me in interpersonal situations. This is from me having little patience and less understanding on small talk. I'm a type of person that feels when I know something I stick to it, then that's because I know it. Since many people don't think as clearly as an INTJ, I tend to think that I know better than others, things my own way. I'm a perfectionist, but I'm also highly organized so that I can get things done, even if it takes longer than expected. Put this all together and I agree with…

Freshman fifteen is the NEW EPIDEMIC!!.. or not? Studies have uncovered that on average, college students (specifically freshmen) are gaining weight at an abnormal pace. Although, evidence does not support the statement of a fifteen pound increase. Weight gain is still a predominant issue that is affecting many undergraduates. The infamous term freshman fifteen stems from the notion that when a student transitions from high school to college this can be a drastic and impactful change. As their routines, diets, and moods are altered, this switch will then lead to weight gain; a rumored 15 pound increase in just their first year of attending college. This imbalance in a student's well being is due to the usage of food as a means of coping. In addition, stress and a lack of exercise also play a role in a student's weight gain.…

I am in my first semester of college this year. I am the first person in my family to attend college. I am very proud of myself. I don’t know if I would be here today if it weren’t for some of the people in my life. Looking back now I will have to say the three biggest influences were my kids who I want better for, my best friend who has believed in me even when I wasn’t sure of myself, and my step dad who has always encouraged me to further my education.…

Now college is like a new turning point for people who have just graduated out of high school and students are very bias about going to college or not. So I think they should go straight into the work force and there are some reasons why student don’t go to college. Students don’t want to go to college because maybe they think of it as a waste of time and that they have no need to go to another school to learn a specific course for 4 years and that they can do it themselves. For examples some artist in the music industry didn’t go to college like J Cole or Rihanna didn’t study music just to be an artist. Some animators are pros just from teaching themselves instead of learning it at colleges. Another reason would be that some…

I grew up in a family that rarely, if ever, complimented me for my achievements. It impacted my self-image, and shattered my confidence to the point where I felt uncomfortable being around or speaking in front of others. I strongly believed that I am the way I am. That my ability was limited; that I was not as special as others kids. My grades in school and college were always average, B’s and C’s. I had no favorite subject, much less one that I was good at. I did have desire to try new things, I signed up to be a cheerleader in high school but I did not make the team, so I reverted back to being afraid to try anything in which I might fail.…

Being petrified to accomplish a dream is what haunts myself from trying to succeed. Finally figuring out what to do with my life was the beginning of a turning point for me, now it was time to follow through that dream and go to college. As I stated in the previous paragraph, a lot of the world today thinks money is the true sign of success and my mom and dad we’re firm believers in that. I figured that they wouldn’t be proud of their son because he wants to write for a living. “If you didn’t have a career as a businessman or something else that’s high paying we think of you as a failure” was always something I would expect my dad would say to me. Which is why college at the time was not my main priority for me once high school was over. The…

Most state colleges, as well as, private colleges are asking that prospective students submit an essay based on certain criteria before they can even begin the admissions process. When an essay is written by the prospective student at least two college employees may read the paper and decide based on what the person wrote if they should be admitted to the college. These essays can range from extracurricular activities to why they want to go to the college. This practice is interesting for the simple fact of personal taste. That is, the prospective student's extracurricular activities, writing styles, or communication skills are being personally judged. Therefore, if any or all of the student's styles are not to the liking of the judge or up to the reader's standards, they might not be admitted or be allowed to proceed in the application process. Some students have the problem of submitting applications to numerous colleges and may not…
