Goals
Throughout my life I have made goals for my future which includes college and my career. I can remember being asked the same questions over and over again “What do you want to be when you’re older?” I have changed my answer many times from being an astronaut, to a nurse, to a chief. The older I became the more I realized I need to choose a career that I would look forward to doing each and every day. So I thought about it, I list the things I love starting from investigations to impregnated women. Watching my mom going through the process for 9 months with my little brother made me want to peruse the career of an Obstetrician. I knew what I wanted to be all I needed to do was take action and create steps to achieve my goal.
My first educational goal that I have set is graduating high school with a 3.0 grade point average or higher. I choose this goal because to graduate high school my grades need to reach the requirements but I also need to excel further than the rest of the students in my class. Without graduating high school I cannot attend college. Since starting high school I have kept my grades above 3.5 exceeding my goal. After I graduate I want attend Florida University International, this has been my dream school since I was a little girl. I choose this goal because this is the city where I want to experience the college life style and it is not too far from my hometown so I can visit my family when I get homesick. My family means everything to me and without them I would not be the person who I am today. I want major in the health science or any major that involve health science because this will help me with my future career. While in college I want to join many extra-curricular activities such as clubs, sports, and sororities. I want to have an amazing experience in college and gain many personal adventures. To make sure these goals are reached I will be performing my best academically and socially. I will keep up with school by making it my first priority, which means studying and completing my homework. I will make sure I do not get distracted in any way. Once I graduate with my Bachelor’s degree in science I will move on to Med-School and complete four years. With this goal, I am one step closer to my future career. While in med-school I will keep up the same goals I have made during my first 4 years in college. My next step will be receiving a paid internship based on the education and knowledge I have gain through school. One day I plan on owning my own practice and having my own office as well-known Obstetrician.

Thinking of possible careers was never a problem, but choosing out of the many life paths I wanted was. I alternated between wedding planner, creating a notebook filled with torn out pages of poofy dresses and possible wedding locations; author, stuffing short stories and poems into a floral folder; and psychiatrist, researching the process to become a doctor. The thought that these may not be options for me never crossed my mind. I only knew I would do whatever I could to live out the future I saw in my mind.…
