Glory Days By Bruce Springsteen: Song Analysis
Every person has a special song that’s makes them look back on a memory or event that took place. My special song is, “Glory Days” by Bruce Springsteen. It all started on a cold winter day. School was cancelled due to bad roads, and I had nothing really to do. So my buddy called me asking if I wanted to go snowboarding. Of course I said,” yes” and on the road we were.
I got in the car and picked my buddy up from his house. The roads had frozen over so of course I had to drive at a responsible speed. Driving down icy roads are pretty frightening, but we had a song to keep us calm and think back on our glory days. It made me think, I'm living in the glory days as we speak and I shouldn't let them pass me by. Finally, we get to the snowy ski resort.

Walk the Line, a 2005 film written by James Mangold, is a biography of Johnny Cash's life, from his days as a young boy to his days as a country music star (IMDb). Johnny Cash had always had a love for music, even as a child, but he never expanded on it, until he needed a way to support his family, which he felt he could do by becoming a musician. He had a dream to become a musician all his life, and by having a little push, he auditioned with his band and was able to make a record. Unfortunately, Johnny's "perfect" life was short lived, when he got tied up into dangerous substances, drugs and alcohol, and these things caused him to lose all that he held dear to him. By Johnny Cash making these horrible decisions, although wrong, they made…

One Vietnam story I found interesting is from a Vietnam Veteran himself. His name was Allen J. Adrian, Sioux Falls, SD. He describes to us how he voluntarily signed up for the U.S Marine Corps. Once he was in his training camp he said he would regret being there. He would ask himself questions on why did he do it and how can he get out of it. He said that once he accepted the fact that he had to stay, he adjusted to the changes and feelings. He uses the Vietnam War more of a positive experience rather than a bad one, one that he will never forget.…

My life sounds like a lot of things, the sound of my kitten making strange noises because she doesn’t meow, the sound of my brothers chasing each other up the stairs, and the sound of my entire family having dinner at my house for a special occasion. But, those aren’t the only sounds. I have grown up in a household where music has always existed. In every car ride there was always music. That's what I remember most about my childhood, is the music that we listened too. There were memories that had nothing to do with them of course, but there are many small memories that are centered around a certain song that we'd all dance and sing to. The song itself isn't what's special, it's the memories that go along with it.…

I was sat squished in the back of one of the minivans with Sam, our treats and various forms of entertainment for the long ride sat between us. The drive was long and boring. We slept, played every car ride game possible and watched movies. The 806.2 miles seemed to take everlasting. We stopped for two nights at a hotel and took a day to go to an amusement park. My love for amusement parks was stronger than my urge to return home and after spending the day on roller coaster rides and eating cotton candy, I decided for a brief moment that maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after…

From analysing Bob Dylan’s album Highway 61 Revisited, one could argue that the overall meaning is to take a political stance against the United States government and Americans as well on calling out the hypocrisy of the nation. Dylan essentially is criticizing the brutal racism and the government’s lack of intervention to try and appease these racial tensions. In addition to that, he is mocking the elite society to point out the injustices that against those of a lower status which in this case would be mostly African Americans.…

Lost Boy by Ruth B. It helps me escape the sadness, and although the lyrics don't have exactly the same meaning that I'm assigning to them, that´s how I interpret them. It keeps the sadness there, but it's overwhelmed by the song itself. It makes me happy, in a way. It helps, especially when I feel unappreciated or unaccepted. I've always liked the song, but the lyrics make it that much better. Deep down, I think the song is just about escaping your problems and issues and just flying away from it all. Well,. Maybe not literally flying.…

I woke up, got dressed in uniform, and made my way to school. The day was going pretty much as usual except for the fact it was as rainy and dark out as funeral scarf. The winds were raging and the rain whispered. I made my way to one of my classes and sat there waiting for the lesson to begin. Music began to play through the speakers of the classroom and it was an old tragically hip song that I was quite familiar with. It brought me back to a time when I was younger and that extraordinary band was all that was played throughout my house on the cassette player or stereo. Music has always triggered so many memories from the past for me and always brings a smile to my face when I think of something wonderful that happened when I was around those melodies or lyrics. I instantly thought about the amazing trip my family and I took when I was 3 to P.E.I and all I could remember was going across the confederation bridge and listening to the entire tragically hip album. It blows my mind thinking of how I was such a young age but just because of this one tune heard during class, I remember a big pile of amazing memories. It turned today’s gloomy day into a happy one that’s for sure.…
