My first main point what causes all of this? Greenhouse gases are trapping energy that is warming Earth's climate. The Earth is wrapped in a blanket of air called the atmosphere, which is made up of several layers of gases. The sun is much hotter than the Earth and it gives off rays of heat that travel through the atmosphere and reaches the Earth.
The rays of the sun warm the Earth, and heat from the Earth then travels back into the atmosphere. The gases in the atmosphere stop some of the heat from escaping into space. A lot of scientists agree that people’s activities are making the natural greenhouse effect stronger. If we carry on polluting the atmosphere with greenhouse gases, it will have very dangerous effects on the Earth. Also this causes severe weathers if ice is melting it cause sea levels to rise which can result in floods. That will destroy businesses, homes, schools etc. Food is also a problem because certain crops need certain conditions in order the grow properly. As the climate warms, the air holds more moisture and rainstorms become more intense, damaging crops. This will cause food prices to go up ,overall precipitation patterns are also changing, bringing droughts to some areas of the world and floods to others. My second point is that wild life is in threat , with climate change it causes animals to mirgrate other places in order to meet their living standards. For example polar bears live in cold conditions they have needs if the ice melts it can cause problems like Reduced access to food, Drop in body condition, Lower cub survival rates, Increase in drowning, Increase in cannibalism, and their population will decrease.

Because of the climate change, the earth is in danger. People don’t realize that the things they use or do every day are hurting the earth and living things. Nature.org says, “…one-fourth of Earth’s species will be headed for extinction by 2050 if the warming trend continues at its current rate…” Because the temperature is increasing, ice is melting. Because ice is melting, sea levels are rising. Higher temperatures don’t only melt ice but evaporates the moisture in the air. Evaporation will take away all of the land’s water leaving it as dry as a desert. With a drought now in progress, it will make it harder to find water and support agriculture.…

The sun firstly releases short-wave radiation which skinks into the earth’s surface, causing it to warm the atmosphere. A long wave infrared radiation which is emitted by the earth’s surface is absorbed, and then re-emitted back into space. The climate changes occur due to the increase of greenhouse gases. The greenhouse gases then trap some of the heat and the rest escapes back into space. Essentially, the more greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere, the more heat is trapped, resulting in an increase of global climate.…

Climate change Climate change is a change in the world’s climate. Climate change is the result of greenhouse gases (e.g. carbon dioxide and methane) building up into our atmosphere and helping trap the heat. Over the past two decades greenhouse gases continue to build up into our atmosphere because of human activity. The atmosphere acts like a blanket protecting us so when solar radiation comes in it is reflected back into space but the greenhouse gases keep building up and making this blanket thicker harder and for the solar radiation and to bounce back into space. This causes the earth’s temperature to become warmer. The gradual increase in temperature has a major effect for ecosystems, growing seasons, animals and their habitats. Concentrations of greenhouse gases are now higher than at any ever in the past 800,000 years with an average surface temperature rise of 0.7°C over the past 100 years. Climate change causes weather patterns to change resulting in long droughts severe storms, bushfires and rising sea levels.…

If you don’t know what Global warming is it is the increase in the earth’s average temperature due to the release of several greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by humans. Global warming is affecting many different parts of the world and in turn causes a cause and effect. Glaciers are melting which is causing the sea level to rise. When the sea level rises it causes damage to people living in low lying areas, and damages to plants by covering them which causes them to die. Which in turn causes animals to lose their main source of food, and causes us humans to lose our two main sources of food. If we don’t do something about global warming everything we take for granted might disappear.…

Greenhouse gases trap the suns heat and light in Earth’s atmosphere which raises the temperature on Earth, this is called ‘the greenhouse effect’. Greenhouse gasses include Carbon Dioxide, water vapour, Nitrous Oxide and Methane which absorb and release thermal infrared radiation leading to the increase in Earth’s temperatures. Greenhouse gasses are needed to support life as we know it. Without these natural gasses heat would escape into Space, they are what keep heat near Earth’s surface. According to The National Geographic [online] ‘This greenhouse effect is what keeps the Earth 's climate livable. Without it, the Earth 's surface would be an average of about 60 degrees Fahrenheit cooler’. The principal cause of global warming is thought to be the burning of fossil fuels such as oil and coal which releases CO2 into…

Global warming is the result of the greenhouse effect, which has increased since the human race started to burn fossil fuels in order to extract energy. When fossil fuels are being burnt, greenhouse gasses, such as carbon dioxide, set free into the atmosphere. The accumulative pollution causes the atmosphere to reflect heat radiation back towards the earth, instead of letting the gasses disappear into space, because the ozone layer gets thicker. However, without the greenhouse effect, our planet “would be 33 degrees Celsius cooler“ (“McKibben” 4). Since the carbon dioxide has already increased by one third in the atmosphere since the nineteenth century, the effect will be stronger and therefore more heat will be kept inside the atmosphere than before. This phenomenon, called global warming, leads to a hotter climate; as a matter of fact, the earth is today hotter than it has been in over 2000 years (“McKibben” 5-9).…

Supporting Evidence: Global climate change and the current global warming trend affect all living things on our planet, including animals, plants, and humans. “Some of the possible consequences of global warming are heat waves, water shortages, rising sea levels, loss of beaches and marshes. Many scientific studies have shown that greenhouse gases contribute to global warming. Greenhouse gases are necessary for keeping the planet habitable, however too much can cause the planet to become too warm for human inhabitation” (Wasiak, 2007).…

Meanwhile, I had some misconceptions about global warming before I took this class. First, CO2 production is the mainly source for global warming. Second, my high school teacher used greenhouse to explain greenhouse effect. Greenhouse is a house which is made of glass. It has glass walls and a glass roof, which keep greenhouse warm inside. As sunlight shines in, it warms the plants and air inside. But the heat is trapped by the glass and can't escape. Therefore the greenhouse gases act as the glass walls and glass roof to trap the heat from the sun. During the day, the sun shines through the atmosphere. Earth's surface warms up in the sunlight. At night, earth's surface cools, releasing the heat back into the air. But some of the heat is trapped by the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. That's how the…

Antione Weeden Reading 1 Final project Main points of the article Global warming and climate change threatens the very existence of mankind. Understanding the effects of each and implementing measures to save this planet are of dire urgency. Global warming has become a threat to everything and everyone on Earth. Global warming is caused by many natural and manmade processes that continue to affect our environment. The release of carbon dioxide and methane gases are the two main contributors to climate change. With the warming of the environment almost inevitable now, methane gases are sure to become an even bigger contributor as the planet warms and the ice melts at the poles. It is going to take a global effort, like no one ever seen before, to slow down and bring global warming to a much more manageable condition. People must commence to doing their part in reducing their carbon footprint, such as buying more fuel efficient cars, cutting back travel, recycling, reducing energy needs, and making their homes greener.…

What Causes Global Warming? Approximately two-thirds of the energy earth receives from the sun is absorbed by land masses and oceans and is then released into the atmosphere as warm, long-wave radiation. The atmosphere of earth is full of so-called greenhouse gases such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, ozone, methane, and nitrous oxide that act like a blanket, trapping some of the heat radiating from the land and oceans and preventing too much energy from escaping into space. The gas blanket works in much the same way as the glass panels of a greenhouse, serving to trap energy and keep temperatures at a steady level. The trapped heat keeps earth at a comfortable average temperature of about sixty-three degrees Fahrenheit. This process is known as the greenhouse effect.…

Global Warming Debate Today we are debating the important topic of global warming. As the affirmative team, we strongly believe that global warming is caused by the actions of humans. But this is not just a belief, this is a fact. Global warming, by definition, is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth 's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants. The greenhouse effect is the trapping of the sun 's warmth in a planet 's lower atmosphere due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation from the sun than to infrared radiation emitted from the planet 's surface. In simpler terms, this means that the pollution emitted from the earth, such as the gasses from factories, cars etc. enter the atmosphere and the co2 from these gases absorb the heat from the sun and intern warms the climate.…

Scientists Attribute Devastation By Hurricane Sandy To The Effects Of Global Warming Global warming is the increase of average world temperatures as a result of what is known as the greenhouse effect. Global warming started long before the 'Industrial Revolution'. It began 18,000 years ago as the earth started warming its way out of the Pleistocene Ice Age. On average the earth's temperature rises 2c to 6c by the end of the 21 century. There are 20 deadly effects because of gobal warming.First, dieases carring insects are spreading north,so in why malria isn't fully extinguish. Second, the waters are getting warmer so there is going to be more hurricanes.Third, There is going to be more chances of heat waves and droughts.Fourth, there's going to be Economic consequences. For example, if there is a big hurricane, the hurricane damages are going to cost money, so if there is chance of more hurricanes, then there is going to be more damages that cost money. Fifth, the polar ice caps are melting, in which the sea levels are rising, and the polar ice caps are white so in which reclect the sunlight back into to space and cooling the earth.Sixth, there is going to be more floods, which is one of the most dangererous harzards to human settlements.Seventh, There is and are going to be more forest fires. n 2007, more than 3,000 fires brought destruction to Southeastern Europe thanks to a long summer that created arid and parched conditions – a situation that would become normal as a consequence of the greenhouse effect.Eighth, there is going to be more destructive storms. The force of an hurricane has increased 50% in the last 30 years.Nineth, there is going to be more death because of smog.smog-related deaths predicted to rise by “about 4.5 percent from the 1990s to the 2050s,”…
