Glass Ceiling Myth
Generally speaking, it cannot be denied that glass ceiling no longer solely exists in US organization. In reality, women empowerment is already here. This is not an idealism that women had a long fight for. This can be seen on giving women the rights to vote and to take even government positions. This also allows women to take high positions in the organization that proved to be successful when it comes to performance and profitability. In addition, married women, single mothers and even would be mothers are now protected by anti-discrimination laws and allow them to land a stable job anytime if their capabilities fit the job role. Moreover, the glass ceiling is variable. Although in some industry, men were strongly favored compared to women, but law strongly upholds whatever rights entitled to women in the workplace are strongly enforced and followed by employers. …show more content…
Organizations can also help their female workers by examining the informal culture, traditions and norms that exists in the organization that may work against the rights of women and change it into something that would embrace gender equality at all aspects. It is important to conduct awareness program to all workers to end the traditional stigma that society has on women. Moreover, women should be allowed to advance their careers and employment with the support of trainings, education and development approach to change the negative perception of organization towards them and make it into a positive
