Girls Club Speech
I would like to thank the Cascade Boys and Girls Club in particular for giving me a place to interact with other kids and through them adapting to my new school and my community. I also want to thank them for giving me the chance to be a leader and mentor among the kids and also experience in a workplace. I hope my story inspires others to not let change and adversity hold them back from moving forward and achieving what they hope to do, but instead to use the changes as a chance to discover something new and to power through the adversities that stand between them and their goals. My experiences have taught me that change is not always negative that sometimes change is just a new opportunity in disguise or a new obstacle to surpass in order

Addressing a group of educated civil rights lawyers about the legality of women's suffrage would require a formal explanation with details and descriptions. For instance, it would explain in depth the legality and the Congress that amended the Constitution and eventually ratification in the states. Whereas, a high school audience would not understand all the legality and terms of the law and a general explanation of the women's suffrage and its effects of changing the Constitution with the addition of the nineteenth amendment. In this way, the most significant difference in explanation would be that the lawyer (educated) group would not need a detailed explanation of the women's suffrage whereas, high school students would need an explanatory…

There is not a single feeling greater than the one you experience when you make a positive impact on someone else’s life. Thankfully, I was able to experience that in my junior year. My high school has a program called Link Crew that is designed to help alleviate the anxiety of freshmen’s transition in to high school. When I signed up to get involved, I never realized how strongly it would affect not only my life, but also the life of everyone else who came in contact with it one way or another. Junior year was my first year involved in the program. At first, I was not sure if I would be able to handle it because it was a club that required a large time commitment. I was already involved in my advisory board, student council, and also I had been on the varsity softball team for both years prior to my junior year, along with working anywhere from three to five days a week. It was a very busy time in my life for a while, but I soon came to realize that Link Crew was completely worth it once I started seeing the effect it had on my school.…

The beginning of my freshman year in high school changed my life. I had set many types of goals for myself this year including making friends, helping others and being a part of the most incredible organization, Blue Guards. Blue Guards is apart of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at Oxon Hill High School. Blue Guards was not only a drill team, it was a family, a family of girls and boys working together, leading others, having discipline, and respecting each other as a team. Walking into the first day of school knowing I was going to be part of this team made me light up like a light bulb.…

This non-profit organization uses both rhetorical and symbolic means of galvanizing its membership. Rhetorically, the Boys and Girls Club has celebrated its volunteers and members alike. In the artifacts shown, the Club has verbally and publicly celebrated the people that make the organization great. During my 18 years, I’ve learned how important family is. Your family will always be there for you no matter what. My family supports me in everything I do. All their time and money cannot express how much they love me because love is more than any of that. Love between families is a special bond of time, laughs, smiles and memories. Love is something that family doesn’t have to say to each other because we already know and I am blessed to have a family that loves me in every way possible.…
