“Girl on Fire”
“Girl on Fire” was written and performed by American artist Alicia keys and was released with the album “Girl on fire” in 2012. Even though there are many interpretations about the song, I see it in a way that she’s trying to describe a woman’s power and how she handles the world all on her own. According to keys what influenced her to write this song was that one reporter described keys as a girl on fire. “She's just a girl, and she's on fire

Hotter than a fantasy, longer like a highway
She's living in a world, and it's on fire
Feeling the catastrophe, but she knows she can fly away
Oh, she got both feet on the ground
and she's burning it down
Oh, she got her head in the clouds
and she's not backing down”
In my opinion these lines say that she knows that she has a long way to go in a very cruel and dramatic world, but she knows that she can go on with it, And by the term “She’s got both feet on the ground” I think she’s tring to express that she’s not living in a dream world or having the dreams that she can never achieve, but living in a very realistic way as what she is. Cause they can see the flame that's in her eyes
Watch her when she's lighting up the night
nobody knows that she's a lonely girl
and it's a lonely world”
Keys is trying to say that as everyone who doesn’t have much trouble works hard, this girl with so much trouble works harder to get on the top ,and she does. And that she had got that determination in her eyes, to live a successful life even if she doesn’t have anybody to back her up or to lend a helping hand. “You can try but you'll never forget her name

she’s on top of the world”
From this phrase I think she’s trying to explain how she has affected the world and kept...
