When he is around, one cannot help but notice the giraffe because of his size and unique pattern that illustrates the side of his body like a beautiful art piece. He enjoys spending time with his close friends but is also social with other animals. Because of his size, he often feels that he is being judged, making him self-conscious sometimes but he never shows any signs of this. The giraffe is known for its long neck and legs. The neck and legs of a giraffe are both more than 6 feet long when fully grown. He is caring and often puts others needs before his own. The giraffe gets close enough to be your friend, but you never know who

    Armadillo Research Paper

Armadillos have one of the highest rates of expansion being 10 times the active rate of a mammal. I think this is because they came from Mexico and the Southern Americas to America and since they do not have much meat on them, they are able to not be hunted. Also Armadillos had this invasion because of the large rivers and hunters in southern America. The armadillos also moved because of the humans invading them in Texas when Humans would start fires in the prairie grass. This then caused the overpopulation of armadillos in Florida due to no more predators, fires and rail road travel where the armadillo would then sneak onto the train and sneak off in Florida. These armadillo were also brought into Floridian zoos as pets and they would escape that. Also a cool interesting fact is that armadillos can live 20 years or even longer (sucks for the ones on the side of the road). So if armadillos can live up to 20 years or even longer they give birth to 4 babies at a time and they have the ability to delay implantation of fertilized eggs for…

In all honesty “The Giraffe” illustrates various human characteristics of the giraffe; however the humans in the story are not really welcoming although the giraffe shares similar characteristics. The townspeople dislike the giraffe which evidently depicts their self-obsessed behaviour. The author is able to successfully illustrate the self-obsessed behaviour of humans by using a giraffe, a harmless animal that would never hurt anyone. Thus, Senesi was successful as the giraffe is an innocent character compared to the humans because…

Have you ever looked at a horse and wonder how we got to the modern horse we have today? Imagine a world where there were horses of all colors, sizes, shapes were roaming the earth, but was no bigger than a size of a dog. Today’s horses only represent a fraction of the horse family tree, known as Equine. All the other branches of horses called Equidae are now extinct. The Equid family appeared 55 million years ago, in North America, which branched off into different genera such as grazers, left browsers, and mixed feeders. Today the Equid family is only represented by Equus genus, that is composed of seven to nine species, including zebras, asses, donkeys, and horses. These species are also in the order Perissodactyla, or odd-toed animal. Tracking the line of descent from Hyracotherium to Equus reveals several evident patterns: degradation of toe number, increase increment of molar teeth, extending of the face, and growth in body size; but these patterns are not found in all the horse lines.…

Living in Eastern North Carolina, I often find myself amazed at the beauty of nature. As a child, my family would travel to the local recreational center that served as a nature educational center. We would spend the day exploring the woods and appreciating nature. With my childhood being filled with the biodiversity of nature, I remain fascinated about the sounds of nature. For my Citizen Project, I decided to research animals in my community, in particular Barn Swallow birds. With this project, I will observe collective data that reported the doings and the migrational patterns of Barn Swallows. This project is quite interesting to me since I have seen these birds my entire life and one of them even nested on my front porch. With the advanced…

and the other for feral animals. For the domesticated look we researched markings on various animals and recreated those as eye makeup, as well as cat eye stylized eyeliner, a rounder face contour to create a more pug-like look, and an elegant hairstyle to portray a domesticated animal's simple life. The feral look consisted of various wounds created by layers of liquid latex and modeling wax. The liquid latex was used to create another layer of skin to be torn, ripped, and battered to create a wound without doing any actual damage to the model's skin underneath. The modeling wax on the other hand is used to build up features and create a contrast between the heights…
