Discussion of Gilbane Gold Video

Abstract:
This paper encloses the ethical stand point of a situation based on a fictional story,
Gilbane Gold. In this paper we will discuss intuition along with some tests and the philosophies of Immanuel Kant, Aristotle and John Stuart Mill to analyze the circumstances that lead to the decision made by the character David Jackson. The story Gilbane Gold is very apt to address the ethical and legal values of the situation based on its effects in the future. This case was originally prepared by the National Institute for Engineering Ethics of the National Society of Professional
Engineers. It is a fictional but highly plausible case, suggested by actual situations. Students will find it easy to identify with the junior environmental engineer, David Jackson, who is caught between his desire to be a good employee and his sense of obligation as an engineer to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public (Paragraph 1, Gilbane Gold TAMU)
Introduction:
The Gilbane Gold video is a perfect example to demonstrate how the moral ethics of an individual effect the decisions he make inn life. This video revolves around the decision made by a person called David Jackson. The plot takes place in a fictional place called Gilbane. Z Corp which is a computer hardware manufacturing company produces sludge which is used to make
75% of the fertilizer used by the farmers in Gilbane. By establishing the Z Corp I Gilbane, the people of Gilbane got many jobs and tax benefits. But, the effect of this sludge on environment is increasing everyday which may lead to severe problems in the place of Gilbane. David Jackson,
One of the few employees who work for Z Corp and knows the harmful effects of sludge tried to solve this issue by convincing his superiors about the problem. When they
