What is a tactical sport that involves head movement, foot balance, and power? A sport that is intense for all the 36 minutes played. Boxing one of the greatest sports of all time. It shaped and created some of the greatest sportsmen in history like Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and George Foreman.

Boxing is often confused with a non-tactical sport, where fighters ramble into the ring throwing wild punches, left right and centre. Working out how to spread your energy over 12 rounds didn’t just mean being physically able, but knowing how to calculate how much longer you would last after each punch you through.

The feeling when you connect any type of punch from a jab to an uppercut is overwhelming. When you hit that shot that sends your opponents mind spinning, causing them to form a strong turtle clenching their head into their own arms. On the ropes now, ears up like a Merkat, waiting for heavenly sound of the bell, which seems to be light years away. Whereas you on the other hand, find this new form of energy after connecting the power shot. You feel regenerated, as if you drilled a hole in their energy savings and robbing them each punch you throw. You see the tremble of their knees, see the wobble in their stance. Pushing them further into the ropes, now cleanly sweeping and picking shots when you barley had the energy to start the round. The sound of the bell seems to be on fast forward every time you connect you favourite shot. Your opponent falls to the ground helplessly, you look towards your coach, he’s never been so proud of you. All the work pays off, you thank him for what he put you

Sports have been around since the beginning of man, even if they weren’t classified as a sport yet, but maybe just a way to pass time.
