Get Me A Basketball Hoop
Hi Dad, I was wondering if you could get me a basketball hoop so I can play my favorite sport at home. Some of the reasons you should get me a basketball hoop is that I don’t like walking 5 blocks to go to the community basketball hoop, it can help me with exercising my body and doing a workout, and some of my friends can come over to my house to play on my very own basketball hoop.

The reason that I don’t want to walk five blocks to the community basketball hoop is that sometimes there could be another person playing there. Over there the basketball hoop is triple rimmed which means that when I shoot, the ball will bounce right off the rim and go somewhere else. The court is also very small, which means that I won't have enough space to dribble, and I won't have that many places to shoot from. Hopefully this reason will persuade you to get me a basketball hoop.

Doing a daily workout by playing basketball will help me with my stamina, and my ability to win the game of H.O.R.S.E.. Playing basketball will help me with hand-eye coordination, and that goes with the health of my body. This reason may help me convince you to get me a basketball hoop.

Therefore, exercising is a very good reason to get me a basketball hoop; yet, friends coming to my house to play basketball is another intelligent reason to get me a basketball hoop. Having my friends over will make me happy because I'm sick and tired of going to their house all the time. If this happens, we can have a sleepover and practice dunking on my hoop. I know this reason will make you get me a basketball hoop.

Walking five blocks to go to a bad basketball hoop, getting exercise, and having my friends over to play basketball with me are very good, and reasonable ways to get me a basketball

I have always love to play basketball. The swish when you make it just right, and the boom of the basketball hitting the floor “are sounds I love”. When I first started playing basketball, my mom and my couch Richard knew that I was expectational. I played with Richard for a few years, then one day he told us about this newspaper ad he saw for a team named “Eugene Fire”. My mom decided to check it out, so she called the coach, Jim. He said I probably won't make the team, but I believed I could. So I would try anyways.…

Basketball is a very physically demanding sport. To be able to play this sport, you must be in the best physical shape possible and to do this you must condition your body for the stress you will put it under. First, you will have to learn how to do an exercise called suicides. To do this you will start at one end of the court where the goals are located. You will be running the length of the court rather than the width. It doesn’t matter where you start. You can start at any point along this line. Next, run to the free throw line, and touch this line. Sprint back to the baseline, then to the half court line. Touch this line as well before returning to the baseline you started from. After you complete the suicides then you will go to the next training and that is how to shoot a ball, then you will learn plays, and when that is all finish you are ready to play basketball.…

Since I was 7 years old, basketball has played an integral part of my life. I have devoted countless hours to not just a sport, but a passion, an outlet; to the game that I love. When I arrived at Bow Middle School as a fifth grader, my classmates and I would always look up to the 7th and 8th grade middle school basketball teams. Every year during winter carnival, the boys and girls teams would play a game in front of the entire school. Playing in that game became a dream and a goal of mine, but first I would need to make the team. For three years I developed my basketball skills, using my passion for the sport and desire to play in that game as motivation. When tryouts for basketball in 8th grade drew near, I knew I was ready. However a new coach would be at the helm this year. Our new basketball coach was also a coach for the youth football program. This resulted in numerous football…

    History of Basketball

<br>Basketball was a simple game, which consists of a ball and a basket. The very first ball that was used was a soccer ball until 1894 when an actual "basketball" was invented. The basketball was slightly smaller, about 30 inches in diameter (William D.Halsey, 1975). While, the first baskets that were used were two peach baskets that were hung from the balcony of the gymnasium (Frank G. Menke, 1970). By 1906, the peach baskets were replaced by metal baskets with holes in the bottom. These holes were placed in the basket so a long pole could be used to poke the basketball out of the basket. This was better then in the early days, when a ladder was used to climb and fetch the ball out of the basket. Finally, in 1913 a hoop with a net was invented so the basketball could fall freely to the ground (Lauren S. Bahr, 1995). In my opinion, the invention of the hoop and net was a major step in the game of basketball. Due to the free falling ball the game 's tempo increased which allowed the game of basketball to develop even…
